Social challenges - can you relate? 💬 Even making it through a short exchange at the supermarket can feel like an accomplishment with my AuDHD brain 🙌

Autism and ADHD both come with their own unique communication challenges - but what’s happening in the brain can be a bit different. 🧠 And don’t even get me started on how this looks as an AuDHDer 😅

What are some social challenges you face? Share in the comments! ⬇️

Interrupting is one of my worst bad habits. It’s like my brain processes faster than people talk and gets bored waiting for them to finish speaking and wants me to answer quickly before they’ve lost my attention.

Omg every single conversation me and my AuDHD husband have, he ends up walking out halfway through and I lose him. That demo was so perfect.

as someone with autism & adhd. we understand things like not interrupting. what we don’t understand is things like not communicating directly & excepting others to read your mind

I am almost 50 years old and I’m just now getting diagnosed with ADHD and autism. I watch your videos and it’s like so many lightbulb moments. I’m in complete overwhelm trying to readjust my entire life. The irony: my son has AuDHD and is 17 now and it’s like watching a clone of me. My youth flashing back at me! And all I have been doing is teaching him how to mask! I’m exhausted from masking my entire life. I don’t even know who I really am?! Ugh!

I just learned the phrase 'non-autistic social norms' and I love it so much. Yes we also have social norms that are just as valid as yours

But, the conversation is always boring, because I was always doing something else.

Some people will take offense at being labeled rather than using person first language. As an aspie myself, personally I dont care.

I'm not trying to be nit picky, and if someone from the autistic community wants to correct me on this definitely go ahead, but I don't think it's very appropriate to call autistic people, "autistics." It's kind of like how it's pretty weird and makes a person sound like an old Southern racist to call black people, "blacks." It's sort of important to address them as people and not as their lable as the era of locking autistic people into asylums, assuming their lives were valuable, forced sterilization, and other eugenics based ideas is still pretty fresh, and we aren't post-ablism by any means.

I mean this less as a criticism and more just well meaning, hopefully you'd be willing to consider that and make adjustments in future videos.

I have a question for you. What do you think about the differences between a person who has ADHD, ASD level one and dyslexia and audio processing disorder, hmmm 🤔 I do have all 4 it’s a different way to think I am telling you
