WILL EVERY "GOOD" PERSON GO TO HEAVEN?
John 3:16-18
Many people think they can get to heaven no matter what they believe as long as they're"good people".
But that's not true. Trusting that you're a "good person" is about having faith in yourself.
God wants us to have faith in Him! Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one
comes to the Father except through me" (John 14.6). In this verse, Jesus is saying that only the
people who believe in Him will get to heaven.
The sins each of us choose to do separate us from God. Because God is perfect. He can't let
sinners into heaven. We would corrupt the place-just like we have on earth! But God doesn't
want to reject us: He wants to restore us. So, He sent Jesus to earth to take the punishment we
deserve for our sins. Jesus died on a cross and then rose again three days later so we can have
forgiveness and be washed clean of our sins. If we don't accept that forgiveness, we're saying
"no" to life in heaven..
You can be a really "good person, " but as John 3:16-18 makes clear, believing in Jesus as
your Savior is the only way to heaven.
