Even though I'm not an Apple fan, I'm still very glad that someone is pursuing the local processing way without the cloud. End to end encryption and data security and privacy is very important for some people and it is respectable that Apple provides an alternative to Googles approach.

What people keep forgetting is that Microsoft is actually on the verge of making the bridge between PC and phone obsolete by allowing Windows to run on ARM - not just apps.

If 6% of Android devices is running latest version of Android that's mean still 120 million people is using latest OS version. (There are 2 Billion 'Active' Android devices). That is not a small number. You can still say it 'Millions and Million People'

Guys you have to stop with this "old Android phones don't get new features" bullcrap. The Google Assistant is updated via the Google app on All devices running 6.0 or higher. If you have a phone from 2014 that runs MM you ALREADY have Google Assistant's Routines which was now ripped off by Apple's Shortcuts. You don't need OS updates to get new Google Assistant features, unlike that poor and pathetic Siri. This is why Android is miles ahead. It's an open platform that gets updated via it's apps. Yes fragmentation is bad, but iOS users don't seem to understand the difference between their locked down OS and this open one.

As a developer, I think both the companies are pushing its developer core to more mobile app building. I think its not very far in future where desktops apps are made completely in the mobile app development environment and would work just as efficiently as a native desktop application.
