For the inspiration thing, it's important to not blame yourself if you feel lazy, there's nothing wrong with being heavily inspired by an already existing artwork, using already existing midi patterns in music etc... Not only it's easy to find inspiration with that, but you also learn something new most of the time

Been stuck for like 5 hrs in the same spot and when you said “take time for yourself” I got my lazy *ss up, went tinkle, took a shower and got some dinner and now I just finished my song ‘shoreline’ so thank you this song really meant a lot I guess that’s why I was so hard on myself causing me to be blocked

Creative Block definitely is something I've experience a lot in the past. Typically if I feel a block happening I proceed to go do something I know that channels my inner happiness or allows me to "reset" my eyes so I can come back to whatever it was I'm working on with a fresh outlook.

I saw a post on a Twitter earlier that I thought made a lot of the sense the more I read it said "Restart. Reset. Readjust. As many times as you need to." Don't know what it is about it but it just clicked so much to me.

Your channel is the most aesthetic and useful channel I have ever The green and golden-brown theme (in a way) you use is so soothing.

Keep in mind that what you think is a creative block might just be that your spirit has been crushed by the outside world. I’ve spent the past 7 years doing nothing but 3D modeling trying to become good enough to get a job in the games industry but even getting commissions was next to impossible. I find myself sitting here now with all of these useless, unwanted skills, a portfolio that isn’t worth anything, and no interest in anything at all; even things unrelated to 3D art. Just food for thought.

I'm 10 months late to this video, but wow... I'm really happy it popped up!

I've been stuck in the 'take a break' limbo on and off for a while now, and things have been feeling a lot more stressful as I haven't been getting any inspiration or ideas for an important segment what I'd like to work on. Perhaps it's time for me to open my mind to other works and attempt to counter the negative "Am I just copying them? Are my ideas good as theirs?" thoughts my anxiety induces in me.

I really appreciate this perspective as well, and I love how it wasn't just worded in a way that implies things will (nearly) immediately fall back in place *on the spot* (I have a rough time taking in that kind of advice, as I tend to overthink things and don't do well with pressure or being rushed)! My relatives who don't know about the creative experience enough yet tend to project their assumptions about things needing to be done certain ways, and things needing to just be 'plowed through' per-say onto me. And although I know they've yet to relate enough or understand me better which is why I hold nothing against them for it- the entirety of this video was super refreshing to hear and I think it's gonna help me a bunch throughout this period while it lasts.

Ultimately, my experiences aside, thank you so much for this!! It was definitely an eye-opener and a reassurance that it's ok to take one step at a time and to take things easily and gradually. I hope anyone reading this is doing well, and I hope everyone does exceptionally well with their art as well once they feel ready to dive back into it! Peace ❤

I lot of these tips have also worked for me. I am a gaming content creator and sometimes, I run into creative blocks myself. Some examples are not knowing what kind of video you are gonna make or you already have a video recorded but don’t know how you are going to edit it. Sometimes you already have a good video made, but you are not sure what to do for the thumbnail. When these things happen, sometimes I need to take a break and do something else, or search for inspiration online that’s usually within my niche. Remember that sometimes, you can’t just force creativity, and like this video said, I myself might get an opinion from a friend who does something similar to what I do. Anyways, that’s all I have to say.

For anything, if you find you aren't getting anywhere with creating anything of any kind, go do menial tasks. Chores. Exercise. Stocking shelves at a grocery store. Stuff that doesn't require thinking that keeps you moving.

The secret to creating is getting bored. Walk away from creating and let yourself be bored. Genuinely bored, but also productive. Clean your house. It probably needs cleaning anyway. If you are bored and not moving, nothing will happen.

I walk around my house listening to music when I want to imagine stories to the songs I listen to. I usually don't get those images in my mind if I sit still, so it's all about movement. And if you do something you've been putting off that doesn't require lots of thought, you get the added benefits of completing a task!

I felt that -- putting the guitar by the garbage cans outside. I throw down my pen and book every time I feel blocked, a fraud, and a fool.

I used to have a problem with overthinking and creative block, but ever since I started microdosing psilocybin mushrooms it's been great so far. My mind is clearer and my thoughts are more concise. To get started look at the one video on my channellll

i landed here because am in it. Since June, i haven't finished programming this beat for this beautiful song! The drums are tight, have changed the chords a number of times and i think its now good to go. however, the strings and pads will just not come up and let me move to the bass which i believe will be simple. Its SOOO FRUSTRATING!
