Tip: if your machine is a top-loader and doesn't have a detergent dispenser, put your laundry detergent in first before your clothes. It will put the soap closer to the larger agitators at the bottom, which will help distribute the soap faster.

Turning graphic tees in-side-out is a good tip, but lots of other items benefit from being in-side-out too. For example, turning your sweatshirts in-side-out will keep the pilling on the in-side, keeping the out-side looking presentable longer and minimizing the use of your fabric shaver.

One tip that i wish you had mentioned is to zip-up and button-up (to make sure the zipper stays up) your jeans and pants (anything with a zipper really). Zippers rubbing on other pieces of clothing during laundry is a big cause of premature wear on clothes. Keeping the zippers closed has made a big difference in how quickly all my clothes wear.

I stopped using fabric softener, I'm using a bit of vinegar instead and do an extra rinse. Never had a vinegar smell problem

Hi Mom. Great job for raising a man who is not lazy and gets pleasure out of work and spreads it around. Every time I watch his video, I go clean:))))❤

I keep the lint in jars, we reuse it to start the fire in the fireplace ;)

Shampoo also works on oily stains.

My ex and I were very fond of the color green. When we sorted our laundry we would have lights, darks and greens piles!

Matching up socks?? I learned the following with my 3 kids (plus husband, which I guess makes 4 kids 😂): only buy 1 style of sock for each child to make laundry day easier.

Also turn any clothing inside out that has textured surfaces such as velvet, corduroy, faux fur, detailed collars and cuffs embellishes, lace overlay. Also always wash dark dress trousers inside out so they are pristine no lint. Another tip for sun-drying your laundry in the height of summer. Throw a very thin piece of cotton over the rail or line on top of your garments to prevent sun bleached lines. I keep a couple of thin older cotton pillowcases that I opened up for a nice thin piece of fabric as well as an old sheet to cover bigger drying racks. Everything dries just as well but no sun bleached fabric. Or only dry undercover of an awning etc where there's shade from the hottest days x

My favourite laundry tip is to turn my black business socks inside out to avoid catching fluff from other items in the wash. And put a note above your washing machine reminding your wife to empty her pockets. She used to always leave tissues in her pockets and then have white specked clothes.

I've been keeping a dawn powereash (trigge rspray bottle) of Dawn with Gain by the laundry to spot treat oil spots/stains on clothes before them go into the washer.

Two tips: Fels Naptha is incredible for the difficult stains like blood, mustard, and chocolate. Plus it's quite cheap. Secondly, get some wool dryer balls and you'll never have to worry about dryer sheets again.

TWO hampers in each bedroom. One for lights, one for darks. I found some great plastic “bucket” laundry baskets with handles that are easy to carry up or down steps. When one is full, I do the load, put the folded dried things in and carry it back. We have to face the fact that there is no such thing as “Laundry day” any more. We do it every day, wash, dry, fold and put it away immediately. Otherwise it is overwhelming.

Thank you for telling us about how LITTLE detergent is needed. People fill the cap which is about 20 times what is needed! Waste of money, bad for the environment, bad for the machine, bad for your clothes.

6:12 ... throwing ice cubes in, to help get rid of wrinkles out of a shirt is a tremendously awesome idea! 😮😊

6:33 Use wool dryer balls instead of dryer sheets. You won’t need to wash your lint filter.

Another tip; keep a log on how much you use your machines. Do a tub clean on the washer every 30 cycles or so, and about 10-15 cycles to clean the filter with water on the dryer. It will help efficiency as best as possible without taking apart and cleaning/fixing stuff.

Hi mom! I sort my clothes my texture.Towels, jeans, lightweight, ect.. It gets them so much cleaner and less work on sorting. I use a very small amount apple cider vinegar for smelly clothes.

HI MOM

I love how you're careful even with a t-shirt, very respectful and frugal minded. So many people would just pitch it.

Lady Bird looks so offended that you're talking about her fur shedding...too funny!
