I enjoy a classic watch that just tells time I find it relaxing to check the time via watch instead of checking my phone

I also believe a lot in minimalism because it provides me with mental space so I can focus better, but then I found out that too much of minimalism makes my home, less homey and less warm.

Please reconsider adding the sunglasses back into your life. They are not just for comfort but help keep ultraviolet from damaging the lens inside the eye. Ultraviolet light has been implicated in the formation of cataracts and other eye damage.

I made the mistake of not wearing sunglasses for years but since I was diagnosed with cataracts, I now wear them. I love using coconut oil for a body oil. Smells so good! ❤️

Wow I am so surprised on how many of these I actually need! My productivity would go down drastically if I didn’t use my computer mouse. I got a vertical mouse that stopped hurting my wrist. I like earrings when I wear a nice dress on Sundays, but I don’t own many. I always like to know what time it is and hate taking my phone out to check, so I like watches. I’ve been wearing one ever since I can remember. My family needs a microwave! We use it multiple times a day to heat up our leftovers. Using the oven would use too much energy and heat up the house. I also have an ironing board for my sewing projects - after all, most of sewing is actually ironing and pressing!

I love your list! I personally love and recommend lamps as I prefer them over the regular lighting. I work in a brightly lit office all day so when I get home I just want to get away from harsh lighting and turn on my low lit lamps and crystal salt lamps. It makes for a nice mood and atmosphere in the evening. ☺️

Stove top cooked popcorn is infinitely more delicious than microwave popcorn, so you might give that a go if you haven’t yet. We’re spoiled now, and that’s the only way we eat it. We season it with butter and salt; sometime with butter, salt, and chocolate; and sometimes I season it with Parmesan and basil. 🍿

Sunglasses are a must. I recommend Polaroid glasses with as much UV protection as you can get. You will thank them when older (ah and they mean less wrinkles, too)

As a minimalist, I enjoy your videos, but I will definitely keep owning most of the items you mentioned, without any guilt! 😄

Eye doctors recommend wearing sunglasses with polarized lenses to avoid cataracts later on. Sun hats will protect your skin but what about reflections from the ground or water fronts, etc ?

My friend is an optometrist and a minimalist. She wears hats and sunglasses to preserve her eye health. She would recommend sunglasses to every minimalist.

I don’t have most of this stuff either! Even before I embarked on my minimalist journey. I think I’m a natural born minimalist- and when I discovered the term and philosophy I said “hey! Sounds like me” 😀 now I’m just strengthening my minimalist muscle through YouTube and what not

I love seeing what other minimalists don't have anymore! We have a lot of similarities. It's funny how I used to think some things I "needed" when in reality I can live without them or find a more sustainable option instead that not only saves me money but better for the environment!

I finally bit the bullet this year and got rid of every single paper catalog and phone book. I haven't looked up a number in a phone book or ordered through a paper catalog in years, but they keep coming into my home. Now I just put them straight into recycling.

Certainly this is a different list than most minimalists offer... So kudos for originality. Many suggestions don't fit my needs. Using a watch is less stressful than staying in touch with my cell all the time. The night table is essential to me to keep glasses, phone (for night time emergency), hearing aid, cochlear implant, small lamp for reading, glass of water - all things that are essentials for nightime safety or comfort. The hearing aid and cochlear implant are too valuable and fragile to put in a crack or under the bed. And not using a dryer would result in visual clutter and lots of wasted time hanging them up. However I like the boldness of your ideas which brings us to think more on our stuff.

You can make popcorn in a pot, that's how I make them.
I also have a mechanic watch (no battery) and I found it life changing. I find it so much easier and faster to track time that way. I find using a phone to track time is super inconvenient. I can go days without using my phone and so I'm more focused in working and living.
I don't own make-up, don't see the point of it.
Not really a minimalist though.

We use our dvd player all the time! I cancelled all of our media streaming as it costs so much in the long run. I bought a cd holder and threw out all of the cases it’s amazing how much room they took up. My iron is a must since I sew and make clothing but I have never used a ironing board simply a thick towel on a table works just fine. Love your videos thanks for sharing !

A travelling trick I learned a long time ago about things that need lay the item flat and smooth it out underneath your mattress. In the morning it will be pressed! Works great!

I’m very minimal in my beauty regimen. Body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, body lotion, and chapstick is all I use- no extra product or makeup or equipment. Also pretty minimal when it comes to my phone and tech in general, which is something I’ve really been working on recently.
