Very interesting topic. I love it when philosophy is applied to this kind of stuff. I think I agree with your analysis of rainbows. The problem about a part of an object having two different colours simultaniously seems defused by a kind of relationalism about colour. Maybe a slightly modified one.

But how about the physical affects of these unobservable objects or entities if these causes exist then there must be something existing that causes them
