Even knowing that the reason they still have these cars is due to necessity and the block on imports, i still think it's truly amazing not only how they kept this style of car alive over there, but also how they managed to keep these same 50's cars running to this very day. It's truly a testament to how planned obsolescence wasn't a thing yet.

the sad fact is that back in 1959 was the last year Cubans were able to afford a brand new car...

Although Cuba’s essentially running out of money and food, the fact these people still keep their cars looking like they were freshly made and sold way back in the 50’s and 60’s astounds and amazes me!
