Excellent video. I connect with everything you said here. I'm only minimalist for a few years and I decluttered very gradually and the resulting benefit of that is I feel more calmer in my living space and I try not to buy thing I don't need but I do on occasion. But lately I find that if I'm going around a store putting things in my basket, I find myself going back around and putting things back that I don't need.
When I discovered meditation I wanted to talk at length about it and tell everyone but I read in Jon Kabat Zinn 's book Wherever you go, there you are that it's best to say nothing and just practice and people themselves may ask questions afterwards.
About gifts, I have told my family just to get me gift cards for stores that I go to often.
