Acute Bronchitis

Acute bronchitis caused by an infection usually develops after you already have a cold or the flu. Symptoms of a cold or the flu include sore throat, fatigue (tiredness), fever, body aches, stuffy or runny nose, vomiting, and diarrhea.

The main symptom of acute bronchitis is a persistent cough, which may last 10 to 20 days. The cough may produce clear mucus (a slimy substance). If the mucus is yellow or green, you may have a bacterial infection as well. Even after the infection clears up, you may still have a dry cough for days or weeks.

Other symptoms of acute bronchitis include wheezing (a whistling or squeaky sound when you breathe), low fever, and chest tightness or pain.

If your acute bronchitis is severe, you also may have shortness of breath, especially with physical activity.

I seem to always get bronchitis whenever I get cold. 99% sure it’s because of my asthma. I have lost track how many times I’ve had bronchitis over my life but I hate it each and every time.

Discovered I had bronchitis after I contracted Covid, but what helped me the most with the shortness of breath and the mucus getting stuck in my throat in start wheezing I started taking Mucinex 12 hour, not the DM. It helped a lot because it thins out that mucus.

Funnily enough, after having a sore throat, cough, tonsillitis secondary to a cold, I recovered after having some antibiotics.. or so I thought. Only had a week's reprieve then developed a severe, persistent deep cough which was more chesty the 2nd time around. One episode of my coughing fits was so bad I vomited. The phlegm I produced went from green to yellow. It only lasted 7-8 days but felt like forever, tired all-round, low-grade fever. Very difficult getting a GP appt in the NHS but I definitely had a feeling it was bronchitis because I've never had a cough as bad as that, it was very stubborn. Also, I'm that person that just wants to crack on with things, so felt I can just ride it out. My coughs are usually bad and make people around me concerned but I always got over them and it's always the 1st symptom to go away when I'm recovering from my cold. The ?bronchitis went after 7-8 days then I had a further 10days-2weeks reprieve then just 2 days go developed a new sudden onset cough. It's back with a vengeance :') and it's dry and hacking so far, just using my usual remedies and OTC meds. Le sigh

I believe I got bronchitis because I'm prone to it for some reason but having it at this time is horrible.

I have had it twice in the past 4 months, both after have a cold, sore throat and fever. Both times I had a hacking cough for 4 weeks afterwards! Really scratchy and painful, I have to cough otherwise it starts to burn.

I have it now, feel fine one day then chronic coughing, wheezing the next, pain in hole.

If your a smoker with this and been wanting too quit, it's the best time. Smoking could make it last much longer and you will have a higher chance of getting it again in the future

I get bronchitis every time I have any sort of sore throat/ cough combo. It’s super frustrating. I keep getting sick too so I’ve had it more days this year than not

If you have chest pains with it, it could possibly be pneumonia because I had bronchitis but no chest pain.

It's especially hard to be sick with something else during a pandemic.

Imagine having this after having Covid and this brought on by Covid so now you’re dealing with two things luckily, mines was considered mild Covid symptoms but the shortness of breath was really horrible especially when you try to eat something.

Still recovering.
Chills are also accompanying the body aches. Is this normal?

But sometimes i have shoulder pain also its realy painfull it was cost by bronchitis also?
