The crew of Galactica gather to meet the crew of Pegasus.

Season 2, Episode 10 "Pegasus" - There's jubilation on Galactica when the Pegasus, thought to have been annihilated with the rest of the colonial fleet, appears out of nowhere. However, the celebrations don't last long. Adama clashes with Pegasus' Admiral Cain, and two of Galactica's crew are sentenced to death.

3:29 Love how Tigh and Fisk exchange just a very quick salute before enthusiastically shaking hands. The two First Officers instantly got along.

I love how this is all so triumphant, and you can see how relieved they all are to finally see friendly faces, but there's just the tiniest bit of tension around Cain and how she reacts to everything.

So much great foreshadowing in this scene.Adama's description of her. Her men's armed entrance as if they were boarding an enemy ship. Her welcoming the fleet back into the Galactic Fleet. Her look of surprise at the President. The handshake and more but the big one for me: her giving a direct order to Adama's XO.

Wish I could erase my memory of this show so I could experience it again for the first time. What a masterpiece.

I love the military accuracy in this series, they really did their homework. the terminology and attention to detail.... notice when Admiral Cain says put your men at ease, they assume parade rest stance.

By far one of the best scenes of the entire series. From their first radio contact discovering one another, to the Marines first out the door then following levels of command exiting in order. Also seemed to press the differences between one crew that had become somewhat lax vs the other, a reminder they were still part of a military system of procedures, ranks and authority greater than themselves. I will also add including the tempo of the music to match, thanks to Bear Mc Creary’s amazing music scores for this series.

I wish they'd shown the scene right after this one where we see the Galactica and Pegasus alongside each other. Say what you will about Cain, seeing two Battlestars at this point in the show was a sight to behold.

The beginning of an end. You can feel the tension that only comes when a war criminal justifies their misdeeds due to saying, "it was the only way", but then suddenly meets other survivors who survived while keeping most of their integrity intact. This was going to end badly, and no one was really ever the same after Pegasus arrived. It's really too bad... had it been a different officer in charge or someone who hadn't snapped, things could have gone very differently in the series.

For someone who was obsessed with discipline and rank, Admiral Cain certainly didn't want to practice either of those things when it came to obeying President & Commander in Chief Roslin.

Interesting in that any actual fleet is with the Galactica but Cain - as a Rear Admiral - considers where ever she and the Pegasus is at is the location and presence of 'the Colonial Fleet'. Which in military doctrine is probably the correct description as she is the most senior ranked officer and is a fleet commander with the most tactically superior vessel. If only she weren't also a ruthless war criminal.
