*Commander Cain:* "I picked the wrong day to give up sniffing glue"

This was my favorite episode from the original BSG series.
I was 11 in 1978.
55 in 2022, and still love it! A great scene well acted!

Greatest dialogue ever with a nice mix of deadpan Cylon comedy. surpassing anything Shakespeare wrote :)
Cylon: Sir, if I may (in his cool robot voice)
Baltar: Not now, I don’t want to miss a moment of the last Battlestars destruction
Cylon: I really think you should take a look at the other Battlestar
Baltar: What are you babbling about
Baltar seeing the Pegasus: It’s impossible
Cylon: No it’s a Battlestar

Pure genius, Perfect dialog, perfect delivery. Give me this over Romeo and Juliet any day

The look on Baltar's face when he saw the Pegasus heading towards him was priceless. So close Cain was from blasting him out of the stars along with several Cylon Raiders.

In the cliffhanger version, after Baltar says "it's impossible" the Cylon replies "no - it is a battlestar"
The deadpan delivery of the Cylons was sometimes hilarious - I'd like to think that was intentional by the writers.

And the robot said “ sir if I may “, then the robot said “ I really think you should look at the other battle star “ = good robot

I remember watching this ep. when I was a kid. Was probably around 9 or 10. Always cracked me up the look on Baltars face. Still love the classic BSG!

The original Galactica along with the Refit Enterprise from TMP and the Space Battleship Yamato. Are my favorite ships/designs of all time.

The Living Legend Parts 1 & 2 were my favorite episodes of Battlestar Galactica. Love watching this today as much as I did for the first time as a kid back in 1978. Just how cool was it to see another of these marvelous warships had survived. And, unlike the Galactica, the Pegasus was loaded for bear and was not burdened with protecting what remained of the colonial fleet. Moreover, the ship was commanded by none other than the legendary Commander Caine. He was a tactical genius, likely modeled after Patton in contrast to a diplomat like Adama (Eisenhower). Baltar feared Caine because he was a psychopath like himself and knew he would stop at nothing, even his own destruction, to get his revenge.

"Let me land my vipers on your ship because landing bays damaged."
Then proceeds to say meeting will take place on his battlestar!!

Cylon raiders looked so cool.
Cylons looked like super machines.
Commander Cain was a great character.
Best sci fi series that had such potential if ABC didn't push Larson so hard to do too many episodes.

I'm beginning to like Battlestar Galactica (TOS).especially with calicos. He also did good as the klingon commander/ governor of organia in Errand of mercy. Star Trek (TOS). Oh yeah, and the robotic voices of the cylons.

If the Cylon Imperious Leader had heard that the Battlestar Pegasus had survived the attack on the Colonies after she saved the Galactica, he would've been furious and would yell at Baltar.

A surprise that when Baltar saw the Pegasus, he didn't realize at that moment that Commander Cain was aboard her until quite a while later.

The way it goes right into the conclusion is seamless.
