After many hours spend in our Live seminars and talking to patients, we started to realized that there was a theme with some questions and decided to created this video for those that are seeking some answers to those hard to find questions via video. Lipedema is one of the most under-diagnosed fat disorders worldwide. It is estimated that 10-18 million women in the United States alone have Lipedema, which means nearly 11 percent of the female population suffer from this connective tissue disorder.

Hi Dr, there’s not enough of you to go round, could you train a bunch of doctors and send them out to all 50 states under MLE TM? I see so many girls out shopping and I want to approach them to say, “I know what you got”, but I always refrain, for fear of it not being excepted or awkward. I want to create a Boucher to bring awareness 😊

I’m glad to hear you may open more clinics! I’ll be seeking treatment within the next year. I’m not finding a specialist in my State. Can you speak more about providing care to out of State patients.

It is amazing to me how few doctors have even heard of Lipedema let alone know how to treat it. I just had a Dr. Appointment last week and explained to the Dr. That Lipedema is the only thing that makes sense as it relates to what I'm seeing and experiencing in my body, and right hand to God, this Dr. Replied, "What is Lipedema?".... I was shocked but not surprised if that makes sense. It's almost like she didn't mean to say it out loud. And in my mind, all I could think was, how in the world can they know how to treat it if they don't even know what it is???? All the while misdiagnosing MILLIONS of women with "Obesity due to caloric intake" which could not be further from the truth!

We really need a Lipedema center in Texas. Like Dalllas, or Ft. Worth. Lots of hospitals around that area.

Thank you for answering questions and presenting informative videos. After years of suffering I have diagnosed myself as having Lipedema. There are primary care physicians in the Bay Area unfamiliar and therefore unable to diagnose

It would be interesting to know if lipedema is higher or lower in certain nationalities i.e. country of origin, to see if how they live, what they eat and things like that have an effect on lipedema or prevent it. Just a thought. I really enjoy learning all I can about lipedema. Thank you Dr.Schwartz for all of your information on lipedema and for caring about us ladies when it seems like other Dr don't care🙏

I am a 66 yo RN living in SC. A year ago I was dx w lipedema after believing I had lymphedema and arthritis, etc.( It’s not severe, my BMI is 29 and most of the obvious swelling is ankles and calves.) I had to return to work for financial reasons and am in excruciating pain by the end of the day. I can barely walk. I have other issues such as arthritis but the pain seems inconsistent with my arthritis dx. What does lipedema pain feel like? Is it generalized- my whole torso and legs hurt so much I can barely move or is it specific to areas of swelling and fat deposits?
What pain management is effective? OTC analgesics just barely touch it and I will not use anything stronger. I am desperate to find help. PS only lipedema specialist near me will not take SSI.

Hello from NC...I just found your video and am listening to you speak about lipodema and you are describing the symptoms in my lower body (waist down) that I've delt with for years. I know that I need this surgery. Lipodema is so hard to live with.

I'm in the UK and still learning about my condition. At first diagnosed with Lymphoedema by my GP in May 2023 at age 75. Wated 5 months to be seen at Lymphoedema clinic and was told diagnosis was incorrect and that I have Lipoedema with mild secondary lymphoedema. Seems I've had undiagnosed lipoedema since puberty and this has now led to mild secondary lymphoedema. In 2008 I was diagosed with a renal angiomyolipoma and in the years since then now have 4 of these renal angiomyolipomas. Is there any connection with the new diagnosis?

I believe I have lipedema and need to find someone in NJ or NY. I'm a fibromyalgia patient and can barely get adjusted by my chiropractor because my body has several tender spots that hurt really bad. I'm on Medicaid and wonder if a plastic surgeon would even consider treating me. I need help.
