How To Fix Microsoft Gaming Services Errors & Issues

In this video, I will be showing you how to fix Windows Gaming Services not working on your PC or laptop. If you are not able to launch your Microsoft Store games or Xbox App games as it keeps giving you an error like "Gaming Services missing" or you get an error code or you are simply unable to launch games, then there are a few ways to fix these issues with the Microsoft Gaming services on your Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer.

I too am having issues and I have spent 8 hrs trying to figure this out. After deleting the gaming service app several time and trying to redownload it via the microsoft store, it keeps saying “something happened on our end” I think its related to the keys in the reg edit. I guess ill try that tomorrow but damn man out of the blue I cant play any xbox games anymore.

Btw I have tried everything and more than what you included in the video. I have tried just about everything man. I cannot get this to work.

No matter what, nothing works with this crappy service on Windows 11. You can get it to almost download a game, but it fails constantly. restarting, reseting, repairing etc etc, gets it once step closer each time. I even managed to run High On Life. But then, carry on with life, restart the laptop and it fails again when you go back. It is so utterly terrible, especially compared to Steam, which just works.

None of these worked for me sadly. I just had to repair-upgrade Win11 for the third time, it seems to be the only momentary fix until I inevitably need to download a new Gaming Services update. Read somewhere it's because of version keys being left over accidentally and them screwing with the update detection in the Microsoft store, but I'm not savvy enough to factcheck it. Only thing I haven't tried yet is allowing Gaming Service to always run in the background, but I doubt it'd fix it. Read it's been an issue for years and Microsoft just does nothing about it. Neat.

If anyone has this problem like i did and none of these worked. The one thing that did work for me was going to the actual game app (in my case state of decay 2) and doing a reset on that like he did with the gaming services app. That actually allowed me to launch the game finally. Hope this helps someone

Start menu --> Apps and Features --> Search for Gaming Services --> Advanced Options --> Terminate --> Repair

Very strange I uninstalled it with the final instruction but somehow it is still installed and will not allow me to uninstall?? Any further wisdom?

All that didnt help. But it still helped me to find out what the problem was. After the few steps i still couldnt start the game, but a Unisoft game did startet. So i guess, i need to reinstall the xbox games. I dont know how and why that happened.
