Step 1) Use this link
Step 2) Uninstall & Reinstall Gaming Services
get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
Step 3) Uninstall and reinstall Xbox App to install gaming services
Step 4) Run WSReset and update Store Apps
Step 5) Update Windows using media creation tool and then try installing gaming services

My gaming services download/install was hung, after trying a ton of windows updates, other net stop commands and about 2 days of fiddling with stuff, (even upgrading to windows 11) that first line in the powershell set everything strait for me! Thank you so much man!

Thanks for saving my windows installation. Almost factory reset because I was tired of this issue.

The way I had to fix it in the end was to add another user account then go to control panel and delete my other one (making sure to backup lots of personal files first) then re-add the account. Logging back into my account as new allowed me to use the Xbox app and install gaming services just fine

thanks dude! i have been trying to install the minecraft launcher for the entire day cause it was in queue. i checked the windows store downloads tab and this app was causing the issue. i reinstalled it back and now it finaly downloads! thank you sir

second fix worked for me, altho it seemed like the error was persisting and I couldnt redownload gaming services it now let me start minecraft again with no problems! Thank you so much!
