I LOVE The Goldfinch but The Secret History is great as well and a lot different. So if you didn't jive with The Goldfinch, you may really like The Secret History - it's very, very different.

Night Boat To Tangier is a wonderful little novel about two ageing Irish gangsters having a sad funny banter about their miserable lives. Very well done by Kevin Barry.

I just sent my first batch of books off to be rehomed. I have a second stack ready to be boxed up. Not a ton of money, but I wasn’t going to read them (or did read them and didn’t want to keep them), so win-win. Two of the books I sent off were in your video. 🤭

Of course, I bought two books today (including Harlem Shuffle!) and received five in the mail over the last week, so my gains in space were immediately limited. 😂

Ah, interesting. I just got and hauled Buddha in the Attic at a used book sale. I had never heard of it but it looked worth checking out.
I highly recommend Dead Wake. I'm not sure what about Larson's books you find "quibbling" (haha), but reading them physically might help, bc they are really formatted for reading with your eyeballs. In my opinion.

I think you'd like Night Boat.... it's not that long.

I recommend Night Boat to Tangier on audio. You’ll fly through it with the Irish accents.☘️ The same with Piranesi and Transcendent Kingdom. Burnt Sugar begins well but ends weird.
The Secret History is 🤩

I love the colourful poster behind you. Does it say Canadian Pacific? Is it an original? Did you take this train? I am Canadian and also nosy! I would love to hear the story behind it.

Wild is such a great book. It’s one a visit nearly every year. The Goldfinch is in my bucket list TBR. Hate reading is an interesting concept. Transcendent Kingdom - such a great read! Know My Name is a beautiful read.

*The Goldfinch* ... 🙄 I despise that book. But I do love *The Secret History* . So don't write it off because you hated *The Goldfinch* . And I read *Wild* and I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. There are a lot of books in this video that I would like to get to!

I loved Betty. If you read it, make sure you are at a good place. It has every trigger warning and is a hard read.

I LOVED "The Night Boat to Tangier"! I was pet sitting in Ireland in 2019 & 2020 down the road from where Kevin Barry was living at the time. I really wanted to drop by with beer and wine but never got up the nerve :( I also didn't love "The Buddha in the Attic". I bought it at a bookstore in an airport and felt a bit...Disappointed. I read it a long time ago and remember very little. Sadly, I don't even have any motivation to pick it up again to reread. I've also read both "Transcendent Kingdom" and "Piranesi" for the Women's Prize for Fiction. I liked "Transcendent Kingdom" and really liked "Piranesi".

I love actual paper books, but do have a Kindle full of books as well. Wondering why you don't read e-books.
