I remember when sigma lenses used to be cheap crap and now they make some of the best budget lenses that compwte with lenses twice as much

The 28-70 Contemporary is a lovely lens. Would readily recommend to anyone looking for that focal length.

I bought the Tamron 35-150mm f/2.0-2.8 over a year ago, and it stays on my Sony A7R4 most of the time. I recently added the Tamron 150-500mm to extend the focal length for baseball, soccer and some wildlife. My G-Master 70-200 f/2.8 is currently parked.

My Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 lives on my production camera. It’s so versatile even tho it shows quite some distortion on the sides. But having the equivalent of a 35, 40, 50, 85, 105, 135 and 150 from f2 to f2.8 is just absolutely worth the weight (1.15kg, something like that). This version from sigma is interesting for the ones that need 24mm, but form me being able to go further than 105 is more important (had a 24-105 f4 before the Tamron)

I wish it was available on Canon RF mount. The native 24-105 will break the bank

I will stick with my Tamron 20-40 and 70-180 and some primes.

I’ve never really felt like I suffered from needing more reach for 99% of pictures while using my 35mm prime. But I’ve definitely wanted wider. I wish they could make something like a 17-70mm zoom for full frame (they make this for aps-c) with a full blown art lens quality.

Honestly, I love very versatile lenses. I have the Fujifilm XH2 with the 16-80mm at F4, and it’s already quite complicated to find some cases where I can’t use it. F4 can SOMETIMES be a bit limitative, but it happened only a few times. Most of the time, I shoot with powerful lights for my clients so…

For me that lense would probably be excellent t. 2.8 is largely enough for me I think, up to 104 mm would be nice (when shooting for fun I sometimes hope I had more than 80mm). But the price is a bit stiff for me even if it’s probably completely justified.

I like 70-200 a bit more. More standoff distance but better range of subjects. 28-105 is solid though!

Bruh I have the tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 and it’s all I need. Just get that. Amazing lens.

OMG! HOLY TOLEDO! HEAVENS to MURGATROYD, even! A manual aperture ring on a current model AF lens is a nearly miraculous occurrence. I hope they make a 28-200, or 300mm lens.

Damn... Ever since that first Sigma Art from almost a decade ago, Sigma has come a long way and they keep getting better and better year after year !

I’m still using my Nikon full frame DSLR, and the Nikon 28-300mm rarely comes off because of its versatility! Actually, if a 28-400 ever becomes available, it will be purchased and used more than any other, as most shots are Landscape/Nature yet still works well for street and portraits!

Idk why but at the beginning of my photography hobby, I always thought of Sigma and Tamron as knockoffs. Looking at their current offering, Sigma’s is really good! f/2.8 throughout the whole focal length is insane.

Lots of glass for a fast AF movement 😮!

I feel like the 7mm gain on the short end isn't worth a whole 45mm on the long end compared to the tamron 35-150.

That would make a solid rodeo lens, most likely. Although I prefer shooting at a bit higher f-stop, the 2.8 is necessary for action shots once the sun goes down and you're dealing with just arena lights.

The barrel extension is always a concern for me working in dusty conditions (outback Australia). I would really like it if they designed a lens hood that could cover the extension, like Nikon does with the 24-70mm f/2.8

I think the best sigma lens did was the 18-55 1.8 Art. The light fragmentation was insane in this lens but I wait to see whta comes next. This one looks amazing 🤩😍
