I have the 1959 f2.5 FL version and I absolutely love this focal length. It forces you to frame differently than your ''usual'' 50 or 85mm. Even at f2.5 the background is suuuper creamy; can't imagine 1.8! Great vid!

I love how everyone’s reviews of this are at an event in San Diego and Pete actually has it in the field.

I use 135mm 2.0L for events and it’s so creamy. I don’t mind the little imperfections that the EF has. I feel it gives the photos an artist look. The lens flares is unique when shooting on sunrise and sunset.
1.8 is not far from 2.0 so don’t see a huge advantage other then having IS now. Nowadays lens are made too perfect and having unique artifacts and imperfections is what gives character. The 135L EF is a vintage lens and will not switch over.

The RF lens I’m wanting from Canon is 14 and 20mm L 1.4 coming next year.

Love how you have to move when composing yourself using any fix lens, But moving around finding the right composition using a 135mm is soooo much more fun then composing for any other fixed length. and when you find that right composition at 135mm its an instant million dollar shot.

A fast 135mm is one of those lenses that you can use for landscape, portrait, weddings, event, street, astro (with a drive), and some wildlife. It is frequently one of the last lenses most people purchase, but one of the most loved when they do.
Not always in the bag, but you know when to take it and nothing else will do quite the same.

The EF 135f2 is the greatest lens ever.

It is also an extremely capable indoor sports lens for crop bodies (200mm equivalent)...paired with a 30MP crop sensor, it is even more compelling for cropping

The sony 135mm f1.8 is my favourite lens I use and will never be sold. I’ve captured my most beautiful shots with it!

I have the EF 135m f2. I don't use it often, but when I do, it is magical! I can only imagine the 1.8 will be nothing short of phenomenal!

I love the 135 focal. I see to us the 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 for events. Now I use the 28-70 f2 and 135 f2. Love the photos. Works well and I get that different look without switching by using 2 bodies.

When it comes to culling lenses, I’ve never understood the overlapping focal length argument. You have primes and you have zooms. They are going to overlap. That’s like saying I don’t need my 11 mm wrench because I have a crescent wrench. One is utilitarian and universal and one just does a better job at turning an 11mm bolt and it’s easier to use.

1.8 looks sooo good. Specially with pictures like in 5:35 ... I'm thinking of giving Canon a try for pics !

The EF 135L is probably the one L series lens I don't yet own. Keen to jump straight in to the RF version. This'll be ideal for shooting esports and video game events while close to, or on stage, to get those awesome close-ups of competitors, where the RF 85L is just not quite long enough.

I also owned the EF 135 f/2L. It was an extraordinary lens, sharp and contrasty the images it produced just had "the look". I ended up selling it when the EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS came out with the fluorite element. I that found it performed equally well at 135mm, albeit it was at 2.8.

This RF 135 f/1.8L IS has me contemplating this lens for the RF kit.

Also I love you kept it at 1.8 for all the photos you showed. I have a 50 1.2. I know I shouldn’t but I just love keeping it at 1.2 😂

Epic photos in an epic place. I definitely want to buy a 135 BUT how good would my photos be in a church or park

I was at the cliff edge and saw people hanging to the chains delimiting the car park so they didnt get blown away... our car moved.. so yes, telephoto and stabilisation is really a good point to raise attention for.. excellent video.

Steve McCurry is the guy who got me interested in the 135mm range. I’m so stoked about this in an RF. Gonna compliment my R6 nicely.
