Doesn't matter what you purchase, it can be anything :) This will go towards new film equipment, budgets for bigger projects, and my book addiction. Thanks for your support!

9/10 fantasy novel. If books don't make you cry and eat ice cream afterward then we wouldn't love them as much.

This was the first Stephen King novel I'd ever read and also my first fantasy novel (even before LOTR). My mother recommended it to me when I was 16, saying back in the 80s when it came out it was nothing like she'd ever read despite reading all the King novels. She told me you could smell and feel the world as you read the book. And sure enough it was THAT amazing. Thanks mom for the great tip. ;) And I'm glad you like it too Anna. Also thanks for the advice. I'm 20 now and also an avid writer.

It's ok to cry. I also cried when one of my favorite character died.

I always cry when something awful happens in books, TV shows, or movies.

Totally experience that too. Crying over a dead character in the book that I love SO much.

I remember crying in the middle of one of my studies in senior year when said character died.
I still get teary eyed when I flip open to that page and reread it.

There is a video on her where Stephen King himself talks about how he writes and comes up with ideas. For me it simply starts, there is no planning and it is like the story unfolds in my head as I keep going. Also try playing the story in your head when you go to sleep at night, speak the lines the characters would say. That's how I go for it. I know a lot of writers like taking notes. Also they key to being a good writer is to read, always read.

If you like fantasy/adventure books then the Ranger's Apprentice series is a must, the books are so visual reading one is like taking a holiday. It's a finite series too so there is a beginning and an end and the standard is maintained throughout. You know when you've had a good read when the characters stay with you long after you've finished

This book was such an adventure! I was really pulled in by the story, and now that it’s over, I’m a bit sad haha. Also Jack Sawyer is one of the most well-written protagonists I’ve ever come across in any media.

I was 15 when I read it and cried for the same reasons.

Get an ereader. I hated the idea at first but now I love it. So portable (mine is 5"x4") and a couple of them have backlights for reading in the dark. If you need reading glasses, you know how difficult it is to read in bed. An ereader allows you to enlarge the font so no glasses in bed. Read outside with no glare. Many classics, including Poe, are free to download. Libraries carry ebooks for free borrowing which you can download at home.

I read this when I was 11 or 12 in a Orphanage called Sarah Reed Children’s Center. Needless to say Wolfs death meant a lot to me.

I know the character you’re referring to. I balled like a big, 180 lb muscle bound baby, when I read it back in 86’. Very well written book.

I feel ya. Being overly-attached to a book and cry and tell people about it, I have the same response... And your outros are funny. haha

Just to say that his is my all time number one book. Nothing can beat it in my eyes. Perhaps it is because I have such a childlike fascination with it. I read it when I was young, I was around the same age as Jack and I felt I lived this adventure though him. I read this book once a year just to take me back to that special place it once took me. Thank you for reviewing this, Anna. If you could can you do The Dark Tower: Gunslinger and Drawing of the Three? Since the first one is so short?
