An obvious connection to the Dark Tower is that Jack Sawyer is basically Tom Russ' twinner from The Wind Through the Keyhole (DT4.5).
Both of them had to go on a journey to get an item that'll save their mothers' life, their both fathers died by someone who they (the fathers) trusted, and the same murderer is trying to prevent Jack/Tom from getting that item.
Their goal was to get to some kind of structure where they'll find the item there, for Jack it was the Black Hotel and for Tom it was the Tower. 🌹

The talisman itself is a glowing sphere with unknowable powers… seems like a pretty big connection. It’s power is used yo saving his mother, then goes somewhere. Maybe all the goodness from it is drained and all that is left is the destruction snd darkness it also causes… number 13?

I haven’t read The Dark Tower series as Gunslinger was to boring and never finished it lol. So I didn’t know there was connection from other books and characters! 😁 Thats cool.

When you read the Talisman, you start to realize that it's a more condensed form of The Dark Tower series from book 2 to 7, with slight variations. Technically, Jack Sawyer becomes a gunslinger somewhere in the book, whether he likes it or not and follows almost the same path as Roland Deschain. Only difference is that his ending doesn't cycle. You also forget a very curious obscure saying the blind man in the book says... All things soive the Lord. If you start thinking about the Dark Tower, there is a similar saying... All things serve the Beam. There is also the mention of strange people early on in the Talisman that tried to abduct Jack Sawyer. They resemble the Can Toi in the Dark Tower. Speedy Parker's twinner, Parkus, is a form of gunslinger, who denies his ties with them, but you find out in the next book, The Black House, that his denial doesn't hold up well.
