In this live stream, I'm going to walk through a Lab from Keith Barker's CCNA Packet Tracer labs. I'll discuss my way through the configuration and explain relevant protocols and commands.

Keith Barker's Packet Tracer labs are available here (Scroll down to "FREE DOWNLOADS"):

In this live stream, we're going to walk through the lab titled "Cisco PT Layer 2 Switching and VLANs". The most up to date version is available from Keith's website. But here is a direct download link:

If you want to see Keith Barker walking through this same lab, watch this video:

Keith Barker has many more Packet Tracer labs available on his website:

Keith has also published walk throughs of all of his labs in this playlist:

All Keith's CCNA content is available in his CCNA 200-301 Master Playlist:

Are you interested in more lab walk throughs like this? If so, let me know! Also, tell me if you prefer Packet Tracer labs, or GNS3 / EVE-NG / CML? Moreover, if you have lab suggestions you want me to walk through, please share the link and I'll see if I can walk through it in a live stream =).

The only thing I regret is that I did not know English well enough in 2021 and did not find this wonderful channel earlier. Thank you very much for your fabulous work!

I completed the lab before watching the lab, but just by seeing running-config.

But you lab walk through is next level, I didn't expected this. Very detailed troubleshooting.

Great and COOL

Hi, if on the server the service tab doesn't appear go to Preferences / Show/hide and uncheck Hide Service Tab

As always you did this lab very well and in great detail. I have a question here: with SW1 is the role for interface Fa0 / 2 "Root" and Fa0 / 1 "Desg"? But on SW2 both interfaces are "Desg"?
Thanks and best regards

I dont know if my way to resolve the problem was ok or your method was better, because the Lab doesn't give any restriction. what i did was i change the VTP mode on SW3 because that was the switch that already had the vlan 10 learned, then i changed the other two switches into client mode, afterthat i configure fa0/1 in port sw1 to have access to the vlan 10 and then i got the correct ip address on the laptop. i will appreciate your comment.

Which is the root bridge, SW2 or SW3 as they are both showing as root bridge?

On switch 1, port fa0/1 I'm having trouble understanding why that's configured as an access port instead of trunk port. If configured as a trunk port and allowing vlans 1, 10 on the trunk, why will that not work? I had this configured as such and it didn't work, watched this, changed it to an access port in vlan 10 and it worked instantly, I'm just wondering why it doesn't work when configured as a trunk and allowing that vlan. I guess that brings me to another question, when to trunk vs when not to trunk. Trunk between switches and routers, but not between ap's, servers, pcs?. Thank you for these videos they are a great help!

Honestly, I would rather learn with you than Keith but it's probably a learning style thing.

Really don't understand why the laptop is not connecting to the AP I tried several times

How could there be something you missed? This was the most basic lab I've ever used. Completed before even listening to video. That said, I did learn a few show commands that I hadn't ever heard in 9 months at university. Show int xn/n switch port and using bpdu to determine vlan traffic . Very nice

This is strange. So, I got everything set correctly, and web page loads and the laptop can ping the server successfully, and initiate an FTP session. But, S3 cannot ping the Directly Connected server. S3 can't ping anything, for that matter, yet everything seems in order.
