I Quit My Job as a Formula 1 Engineer - Here's why

I'll tell you why I didn't make a huge mistake...

In November I quit my job as a Formula 1 engineer.
After nearly 11 years as a trackside performance engineer and a vehicle dynamics engineer, I decided it was time to take a break.

Welcome to my new Formula 1 page - where I'm going to be sharing my insight into the world of Formula 1 with all of you.

This channel is a blank canvass - I'd like to help explain how I got my job, what kind of jobs there are in F1, and answer any questions YOU might have. Think of this as my Formula 1 documentary about my life and experiences.

Please feel free to leave any questions below - I'll do my best to reply to all of them, or even make a video reply!

I also create and stream gaming content as well - be sure to follow me on Twitch and my other socials! I do F1 analysis, Q/A, race debriefs and watch-alongs live on twitch as well!

Bro really quit his job at the highest level of racing to pursue his new dream. That’s dedication and trust in oneself.

HAAS are looking for a race engineer. Not sure if the money is enough to put up with Gunther Steiner's rants though.

If he stayed in RB for extra 3 years he would've been the part of a legendary moment in F1 history

Good for you man, I've been watching formula 1 for about a decade and to see people like you switch from such a beautiful job to a real passion inspires me. Keep it up mate.

The amount of risk this guy took blows my mind. Well done

This smart, hard working man gets the luxury to have 2 jobs he's passionate about. I've never worked in f1 so I wont judge his life choices, but imo it's never a mistake to follow your guts.

The reason people are mad at you is because it would have been their dream as well (some maybe just for the money or just to hate). They are right to be mad, when they see someone who has their dream job just disregard it, in their eyes at least. But you have the freedom to do what you want, afterall you know what's best for you and not others. Best of luck in your channel man I hope you do great.

There's a channel by the name of Kyle.Engineers that has a similar story (content, F1 engineer, return to content). Didn't think I'd come across another channel of someone that left F1. Very cool stuff with both stories!

Bro you need to play f1 game and show us how to properly setup the car and also point out if something isn't working as expected.

Man, I want to be involved in F1 its such a cool sport I wanted to be a driver but im in my mid 14. Now I think its more sensible to be a mechanic or an engineer so Im wondering, what do you need to be an engineer in F1?

Bro keep doing what you love doing. Life is short so love what you doing and create your own moments in life. Best of all you get to spend your TIME your way

The way he chose what truly made him happy and what completes him is something other people can’t seem to understand. He worked a decade in F1. He lived the dream that none of us would never come close too. I applaud him for being in F1 and for making the huge leap into content creation.
Saw the same thing as someone switching from a six figure job to pretty much managing a boba tea shop cause she loved boba tea. She even said that she loves it and she’s not as stressed or full of anxiety anymore.
People do things to make them happy and that is what matters the most to them.
