Knitting Help - Slow-Motion Cast-On

Something new for visual learners! In this video, my producer slows the long-tail cast-on way, way down - for a close-up and slow demonstration of the stitch.

Not sure why, but I can't get the link to the Slo-Mo Playlist to work in the video. Here is the link:

The yarn I use in the video is Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Bulky in Crush. The needle is a Knitter's Pride Bamboo double-pointed needle. (It isn't necessary to use dpns for this cast-on.) My nail polish is ASP Gel Polish in “Pink Sweetness”.

Love the slow Mo. Started knitting a year and a half ago and had to start, stop, rewind, and start again endlessly to make sure I was doing it right. Got real familiar with all of your nail polishes. 🤪

Just watched this video. I'm in my 60's and my Nana taught me exactly the same way when I was learning to knit as a young girl! I still find this the best and neatest cast on. Thank you so much 🥰

I will look forward to the slo-mo video of German Short Row (versions) and many others that I use now with the PAUSE method of trying to keep up! This is a great idea! Thanks

Hurray for showing this method of the long tail! It's what I learned over 50 years ago, and I constantly wonder why people have decided to complicate something that is so simple!

Interesting, I have always cast on with the Thumb long tail cast on, but I do it differently and never realised til now. I make a cross across my thumb and knit into the top of it, making a knot at the base of the cast on stitch. Thank you for all your hard work, I really enjoy your podcasts.

Thank you for all of your videos! The slow morion makes this technique so much easier to follow. YT viewers, we can also slow a video down in the settings feature, the little gear-shaped icon. click on it and choose "Speed." You'll have choices to slow down or speed up any video.

Thank you, was doing GT but finally getting confident enough to try dpns and was having trouble with loading the 2nd and 3rd needle to attempt your beautiful cabled fingerless gloves. I was getting very frustrated trying to load up, magic loop is my go to, but need to conquer Dpns.
Again... thank you, tutorials much appreciated.
