Locked my keys in my car this morning before class and I used the shoelace method and it worked splendidly. Thank you I didn't have to call a locksmith

I bought one of these kits.. Really handy.
Only problem was the kit was in my car when I locked the keys in.

They were older cars, modern stuff has all the simple stuff sorted, recessed door lock buttons etc and way more angles in door jams to stop you getting stuff in, sheild plates over lock rods in doors, ,, the best tip out of all the video was to double check all the doors and the boot again.

four attempts with a piece of looped garden wire and managed to get a grip on the button which is tapered inward towards the top so string was no good. The wire pulled really tight and gripped the button just enough to pull it up. Job done. took an hour and of course it started to pi** with rain but what a relief when it opened. The keys were in the ignition and the ignition was on. No idea how it managed to miraculously lock itself, it doesn't have one of those self-locking systems which lock after 5 minutes. Thank you so much for the advice. Relieved and in the dry.

You just saved my life, not literally, but Method #3. Use a strapping band or another suitable accessory. Worked like a charm, and i just about threw it out of the garage... whew... Thanks again.

To anyone that might find it handy. I'm going to say that today I used to lock inside my ford fiesta mk6 (year 2007) the only key I had. In my country those air pump wedges and other accessories are not available unless bought online. So I used 3 screwdrivers covered a 5 mm layer of napkins to not scratch the outside paint and I used them to open the rear door from above and I used to place an empty lighter to hold the door a little open. Than i put a long STRAIGHT wire with a one inch hook and luckily after few minutes I managed to catch the handle of the other door in front of me. I first tried to catch the handle of the same door where I inserted the wire but after almost 2 frustrating hours it didn't work. I should say I was LUCKY. You can try a lot but without the right tools you only depend on luck in such situation hoping to catch the handle and the handle of the fiesta is on the very bottom and can't be catched from above. To anyone that doesn't have a spare key I would suggest to make one ASAP, it's worth every single penny compared to getting locked outside and spend a fortune for a locksmith, break a window or waste half a day praying to catch that handle!!!

Brother, i can't thankyou enough for helping me out. Your solution just came to my rescue just when i lost all hope and almost settled for a hole in my pocket. Thanks a ton brother!
The key is to just stay peristent and stick with the solution which seems most reasonable for one's car.

Instead of using a wire hanger which may be a bit tricky to use and can be difficult to squeeze between the window glass and door, I would opt for a two-inch wide, one-foot long, 18-gauge/1 mm thick strip of sheet metal or plastic and cut a round one-inch diameter hook-like notch on the side of the strip near the tip you will be inserting. All you need to do is slide the strip up and down near the door knob until it hooks onto the locking rod, after which you pull upward while tugging on the door handle to get the door unlocked. While this custom made tool may not work on all vehicles, I once opened in a matter of seconds, the door of a vehicle which a tow truck operator took over an hour to accomplish with a wire hanger.

Locked my keys in my car on a Friday when I was working out of town, about two hours from going home. Needless to say I was motivated to get it open before I left, used a long string and had the door open in ten minutes. Worked flawlessly

Click on the button inside is only possible when the ECU is not "sleeping", because if it is doesnt do anything, in case you are able to put the rádio on or something that awake the ECU, it works
