Game Theory: Are Your Mobile Games ILLEGAL?

I'm sure you've been playing a game or watching a video on your phone when suddenly it is interrupted with an add for a weird and fake looking mobile game. I've seen a lot of channels try out these games to see if they play as advertised, but they haven't covered what I find most interesting about these games. Are they LEGAL? False advertising is a dangerous game, Theorist, so why do these mobile games get away with it? Let's find out!

What is worse than fake ads? Ads which have a false X button to make you click on the ad

Regardless of whether they’re illegal because they’re misleading, the grotesque cartoon style of some of those ads is truly a crime against humanity

sometimes they exploit the x button to either make a fake one, make an overly small button to get more clicks

And then you have the ads that have fake 'x' buttons and the ones that make you wait another 15 seconds after you've finished watching the 30 second one.

Speaking of ads. The amount of sexual ads I’ve seen on YouTube that break their own guidelines. Hilarious.

It’s funny how you can always tell its not the actual gameplay

Many people ask why the game developers don't just make the games shown in the ads, as those fake games often look more fun the actual game.
The truth is that sadly those fake games are harder to monetize. You can have millions of levels and power ups and in game purchases with a match 3 game with little art cost, but with a pull the key style game, there is only so much you can do before you run out of art or ideas.

The worst one is Evony which straight up lies to you in the ad. It says, "Most mobile game ads show things that don't happen in the actual game. Fortunately, Evony doesn't do this." As soon as you install and open the app you can see it's completely different.

the funny thing is that gardenscapes had to add the minigames because of the complaints about them lying about the content

The ad for "Epic" is still better than the generic "can't reach pink colour" ads!

Let’s not forget when they show you a “demo” and VERY AGGRESSIVELY tell you to touch the screen, and when you do, they just take you to the page on the App Store. Taking it a step further, they have a disembodied hand play the demo VERY BADLY so you’ll feel compelled to buy the game to do it right. It’s so, so, annoying.

As a person who lives in the UK I saw an ad for Homescapes and it said at the bottom "Most footage in the advertisement is not real"
