Bow Legs

Long ride in, partner?

Bow legs aren’t reserved for cowboys alone.

If the muscles at the back of the pelvis get tight, the pelvis is pushed forward and looks “tucked under”.

This happens to pick up external rotation at the hip. Hip external rotation or turning of the thighs outward is what creates that classic cowboy look.

To improve hip mobility and straighten those legs out, opening up the back of the pelvis is key.

Try this wall squat movement to restore hip motion and give the legs a rest. Make sure you progress to deeper ranges as you go. Watch out for crunching and forward hip shift from the wall!

Yeehaw!

You can’t fix bow legs with exercises my God. How is a fitness channel sharing this?

Uh, my shins are bowed, not my "legs". How do I fix that? With feet together and knees locked I can make my kneecaps face each other and pass a basketball between my legs. Stupid human trick
