I used rubbing alcohol and bleach in a spray bottle and I also put like 20 drops of lavender and tea tree oil in the mixture. I haven’t seen them in almost 2 months

I got rid of all my bed bugs by applying a very thin, almost invisible, 6 inch wide circle of food grade diatomaceous earth all around the edge of my bare mattress. I dipped a soft dry paintbrush into the sack of powder and gently brushed it onto the mattress so it didn't puff up into the air for me to breathe. It was applied very thinly, almost invisible. (bed bugs don't mind walking through a little dust, but will avoid thick piles of it.)

Then I put a sleeping bag in the center of the bed so no bedding covered the powder or hung over the edge onto the floor.

Some of the bed bugs came out of their hiding places to feed during the first night. They didn't sense any danger from walking over the thin powder, which stuck to their bodies. They had their very last blood meal, then returned to their nests. Other bed bugs were attracted to the blood and snuggled up to them, getting some of the lethal powder on themselves. They dried up and died together.

I didn't know that adults normally feed every 3 to 5 days, so it was a pleasant surprise when there were no more bites after about a week. Each night of that week some of the bed bugs that were ready to feed made the trip into the bed. They had to walk across the powder.

It was a trap, and I was the bait, which was a gruesome thought, but I was asleep and didn't feel anything. I knew those bed bugs were going to bite in the daytime if they couldn't do it at night. As long as they were alive, they would continue to bite. This trap was going to kill them. It did. The bed bugs were gone after about a week.

The tricky part of getting rid of all the bed bugs is knowing the EGGS are very tough and not killed by the dust or pesticides. They can hatch a couple weeks after the bed bugs have been killed, and you think there are aren't any more of them.

The new tiny nymphs wait a week after hatching before they gorge on blood to expand their bodies to shed their skins and begin growing. That's why I continued to sleep inside the circle of DE powder at night for more than a month, even though I didn't see any more bites, to make sure that the DE would kill those new babies hatching from eggs. This is IMPORTANT. They must die before they grow into adults.

I was the only source of food for the bed bugs. They had to leave their secure hiding places and travel to me. They killed themselves while I slept, so I didn't bother to do any work, no vacuuming, steaming, washing and drying on high heat, no spraying or spreading DE throughout the house, no bagging up my clothes, moving or throwing away furniture and stuff.

I didn't have a sofa or easy chairs. They would have been dusted like the bed.

This is what I did to get rid of my bed bugs. It worked, but if I ever get bed bugs again, I will vacuum up as many bed bugs as possible FIRST before applying the food grade diatomaceous earth to the mattress. There will be fewer bed bugs to bite me.

Buy a tarpaulin of a smaller size and lay it over the bed. With a scissors cut it around so that the four edges are hanging down ca 10-15 cm from the floor. For some reason the bed bugs do not fix to, from the inside, crawl down to the edges of the tarpaulin and then up again on the outside. Can be that they become shielded from the Co2. Anyhow these two things are getting them disoriented and you can practically starve them out for as long as needed. I know this works. For extra safety also use cups with soapy water under each leg of the bed.

Use filtered water if possible, or you can use some cooled boiled water. For every ounce of water that you use, you should add 1 drop of pure lavender essential oil. As such, if your spray bottle can hold 3 ounces of water, you would need to use 3 drops of pure lavender essential oil.

The 100% way to get ride of bedbugs is a heat treatment to the house these bedbug heaters are expensive but worth it they can run anywhere from $999-3, 000 but it will heat the house up to temperatures that will kill bedbugs and their eggs no matter were they are hiding even in walls.
