The British national anthem, "God Save the Queen" was played in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the end of the program for the Festival of Remembrance in 1984. Here, His late Majesty King Olav V of Norway (at 0:40) was seen singing the anthem in honour of his niece despite being the king of of his own realm.

After singing the anthem, the audience and the uniformed servicemen gave three cheers for the Queen just as how it is done until today.

Aside from the Queen and the late King of Norway, also present were, Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, HRH Duke of Edinburgh, HRH Charles Prince of Wales, Diana Princess of Wales, HRH Anne the Princess Royal, and HRH Prince Michael of Kent.

King Olav was born Prince Alexander on the Sandringham Estate and his mother, Queen Maud was a member of the British Royal family. He was always close to his family in Britain, and Norway has always been a close friend and ally.
