This is the best breakdown of this topic I have watched so far and I have watched a lot of videos. Thank you so much. Other videos just skip some things because they somehow assume we should know or something…we’re new drivers for a reason lol. Any this breakdown is more understandable for me.

Thanks for this, I had to pass a truck on a 2 lane highway today and I was hesitant to do so as there were barriers on the left side which makes the lane seem narrower. It was intially a 3 lane high way. I wanted to pass the truck when I saw both middle and left lane were free, I wanted to use the left lane to avoid getting close to the truck. Just as I went on to the middle lane I found out that the road is being narrowed down to a 2 lane high way due to road contruction. I couldn't go back to the right lane as there was a van behind me. So I was stuck on the back left side of the truck for a while for I didn't dare to go pass it quikly, because from experience I often drive too close to the right to avoid incoming traffic and on the previous day my right front wheel briefly hit the curb for the same reason. So I wanted to pass the truck slowly to be sure not hit the barrier or the truck. But I was reminded that it's a no no to ever linger beside a truck, so I prayed, pressed the gas and passed it holding my breath.
