How and Why to Set DRAG FACTOR on your Row/Ski/Bike Erg

Make sure that your training is effective and repeatable by setting the drag factor each time you train or test on your Concept 2 Rower, Ski-Erg or Bike-Erg.
Every rower will vary in the level of resistance that it provides at a given damper setting (1-10) and a given machine may also vary from day to day or week to week, and that is why it is important to use the drag factor to make your training repeatable so you can monitor progress and gains!

Worth mentioning that the flywheel and mesh need to be kept clean. Some gyms do not maintain their ergs properly. My worst case scenario was a concept 2 with a maximum drag factor of 82 on setting 10. If you have your own erg, cleaning is recommended after every 250 hours of use.

that’s where the thing is. I had no idea how to make the machine go “harder” and only use the gym at like midnight so couldn’t ask anyone 😅
