It's said in the book that fairies in Peter Pan can only experince one emotion at a time, and whatever that emotion is gets revamped up exponentially. So when Tink was jealous, it quite literally was the only thing on her mind. She is the epitome of being emotionally unstable.

Fun fact: Wendy was not a name that anyone had until the Peter Pan book released in 1904, though it could be argued that it evolved as a nickname for Gwendolen. However, the Disney movie for Peter Pan released in 1953, causing the name popularity to explode to its peak in the mid 1950s when it went from around 0.02% in the decade prior to about 0.2% of all babies being named Wendy. This caused it to remain popular for the rest of the decade when in 1961, Wendy Thomas, daughter of Dave Thomas was born. Dave Thomas who happened to be the founder of the restaurant chain Wendy’s, named after his daughter. So if you really think about it, the mega fast food corporation that we know today was named because of a Disney movie.

Oh yeah, Tinkerbell is super jealous of Wendy. She even sells Peter Pan out to Hook, then immediately regretted it. Tinkerbell redeemed herself by foiling Hook's plan at the cost of her life.

Peter Pan and Tinkerbell are... not ...nice people. Disney's Peter Pan and Tinkerbell have largely been redeemed, but book versions of those characters are not role models.

Not surprising when you remember that fairies of old were not nice and were usually wicked spirits, they could be anything from an enchantress to a hobgoblin.

Fun Fact: Fairy dust was added due to kids trying to fly and getting hurt

I remember a story where the button is an acorn, and also peter threatens to kill the lost boy with an arrow who shot her

My SIL, who is a school teacher told me years ago, that fairy tales were not originally intended for children. Virtually every one has been toned down by Disney. That's also true about cartoons in general. They were used in politics.

Didn’t the mermaids also try to drown Wendy, not just in the movie but in the book? I might be wrong

One thing I heard about the Peter Pan story is that it originally didn't require pixie dust to fly. The story was changed because children were jumping out of windows believing they could fly.

That's why Tinkerbell is the perfect name for a psychotic chihuahua.

I remember seeing this in the life action version (it was an acorn) and Peter looked like he was going to kill Toodles (who told him to do it) until he saw she was alive

I love when they follow the books. Even disturbing.

I always thought (or theorized) that the story of peter pan was a way to tell young children that theyre gonna die. A mysterious figure that never ages is going to come take them to a place they can laugh and play all day long, and subsequently never return from. Like the angel of death but for children.

Fun fact: In the musical of Peter Pan Jr, the same arrow hitting the acorn button happens but instead of Tootles hitting Wendy, it’s Curley. How do I know? Because I performed as Curley in the Peter Pan Jr I did. Quite fun to do.

Peters shadow on the wall in the bedroom shows something else besides a knife.

Disney doesn't exactly censor.

Then there Pleasure Island from Pinocchio.
