7 Common Foods Killing You Slowly

Just because you can buy it doesn't mean it's good for you. In fact, a typical supermarket is littered with so many death traps its not surprising we have so many health problems. Carbon monoxide atmosphere in our beef? Tripolyphosphate? 90% Sodium death in a can? Cellulose from wood pulp in our shredded cheese? Orange juice that sits in vats for up to a year only to get rehydrated and reflavored to go in a carton?

Lastly, would you eat candy to replace your food? Sounds ridiculous right? But when you drink enough sugar water like juices and sodas, it becomes a significant part of your calorie intake. Drink those minimally and all should be well.

So we eat cleaning agent? .

This was the first I've heard about the carbon monoxide use on meat. I've definitely bought and seen ground beef where the top was plump and red and the meat inside of the package was gray. I could not figure out why/how the inside had aged faster than the outside/top. This info. was an eye-opener for me.

BTW, sometimes when I get bored with water, I add sliced citrus fruit, cut fruit, berries, or mint leaves (whatever I have around) to a pitcher of water and let it steep overnight. It adds flavor and maybe some vitamins, and is a healthier option than soda.

You have a great understanding of everyday life and what surrounds us. You are also eloquent and have the ability to translate this understanding, common sense if you prefer, and convey your message with the right words. I'm glad I've found you and that I'm your subscriber for a couple of months now. Understanding and being aware contribute a lot to saving money. Knowing your numbers is not enough.

They pump a liquid solution into the chickens to make them plump. So...they make it heavier and appear bigger and charge you more money because the liquid they injected into the chickens made the chickens weigh more

I am really sensitive to a lot of preservatives and will often feel sick after consuming something packaged. My body basically forces me to make healthy choices. I am really glad you are making people more aware of there food choices.

I am already avoiding every one of those terrible things. I gave up meat and dairy a while back, to save the hassle. Them coffee pods are so confusing to me! My mum has one and I hate it with a passion. I worked out that every coffee from that damn thing costs her (GBP) £0.88 while a cup of instant is £0.10 each, it's insane!
As for juice, in nature when we eat fruit we digest it at a pace thus our liver can deal with the sugars gradually, whereas when we drink juice it pretty much plummets into the liver all at once which it can't handle, this can cause liver issues as well as weight issues. One of my friends who diets a lot thought she was being healthy by drinking juice lol.

Buy your meat from your local butcher. You can usually get great deals on fresh beef jerky too.

As far as chickens, I think factory farm chickens are kept in small spaces and are not allowed to move much so they don't burn any energy hence weigh more in addition to selective breeding. I read somewhere that the inventor of the k cup regrets inventing it because of the landfill issue. I think Whole Foods sells unpackaged seafood and meats. I love your common sense presentations.

Try to buy from a local butcher, Amish farmers or fresh market

At least in Nebraska you can find a farmer that sells meet in bulk (half a cow, 1/4 cow, 1/8....) and he usually has a butcher that packs everything up so you just freeze it.... If you vacuum seal the meat in good thick plastic bags it can easily last for 6 months.. And the price is **really good**.
Most products in the store are optimized for shelf life and stability. If the product expires they loose money...

Good points
For the Keurig coffeemaker a person can use reusable Cafe Cups. You use ground coffee in the Cafe Cup.
Then put the grinds into your compost bin and rinse it out.
Typically I have used my Cafe Cup at least 700 times before having to replace it. Because 5 people drink 3 cups of coffee daily in my house I store 20 Cafe Cups under my Keurig and a tin of ground coffee beside the machine.
The taste of Keurig coffee is far superior to instant coffee.
Also far less coffee is wasted if one brews a 48 oz pot but only drinks 10 oz.
Also the taste is far superior to instant.

I sometimes soak my meat in a bowl of home made salt water (the beef is completely submerged in the water)for about an hour and it draws all the blood out of the beef, so I can imagine it's probably drawing other stuff out too. Just a half a tsp of salt to 1/3 of a gallon of water for this mixture. It's easy and thanks for the video.

I worked at Rayles and Bel Air Supermarkets and seen how its packaged. This might be an exception to this but its a regular looking machine that wraps it in plastic. Place the meat on the front it goes in and comes out wraped on the other side. no air tight chamber or anything special. Ill take a video of this if you want. All done in store.

I appreciate all the information you have shared in this video. I've taken notes and I too will be more aware of what I'm taking home to my family. Thank you.

I am very with you on the fast food pizza cheeses. I worked at dominoes part time for about 2 years and they want to make pizzas in under 3 minutes, (pre oven time) then they go in the oven for about 5 minutes at a very high temperature. the cheese comes in huge pre-shredded bags, maybe about 10-15 lbs each, (think of like the size of a folded couch throw blanket from Costco, but full of cheese.) kept in the "walk In" fridge/freezer, and when it's poured out of the bag into the prep area it separates really well for easy grabbing and sprinkling, so it's probably covered in cellulose.

Go to a local farm. My parents do this. They'll get pounds of meat and store it in a large chest freezer. Good for at least a couple months

The amount of salt and sugar in processed food is insane.
