How to install a Wi-Fi extender socket

In this video I replace a standard double switched electrical socket with a British General 922UWR Wi-Fi extender socket, these are a great idea as they allow you to use both socket outlets whilst extending the Wi-Fi network.

Great vid again with nice detail and attention to safe isolation.
My only advice would be you should have really cropped and re-terminated the cables. When terminated the copper gets crushed and weakened especially if its solid core so it's good practice to crop off old terminations and re-terminate with fresh copper imho.

I bought a chromed double socket with USB charging ports from B&Q, o plan to replace it with a standard white double socket and no ISN charging. Power output is too high for phones but fine for tablets.

Good video but this is the last option to consider when trying to improve Wi-fi performance in your home. WiFi repeaters (which is basically what this is) offer limited performance increases, you. Ugh the see a stronger signal on your end device but you just have another device that has to deal with Wi-fi interference and passing the traffic along. Use with caution and only if proper solutions are not available.

Have you considered doing any videos on laying cat5e cabling and PoE switching etc?

As an Electrician I have tried several WiFi extenders and they have all been pretty useless, I then bought one of these made in the UK WiFi extender sockets from British General (BG) and it really does work, now I can easily get a WiFi signal in locations around my house and at the bottom of my garden. However I took a different approach and made up an actual extension lead using the WiFi extender so that I can easily move it around the house if I find an area where the WiFi signal is weak.

Great informative video...as usual! This socket seems to have the same problem as the USB socket I fitted in one of my videos....the switches are in an awkward position if you've got adaptor style plugs. I noticed that when you press the switch it hits the socket tester. They could do with moving the switch over a little when they design them!
