Q: During setup, always stuck in “internet connection time out”

✅ Apps Setting
1. Make sure the Apps region is set as Malaysia or Singapore, but not China Mainland.

2. Make sure Mi Home APP is up to date.

3. Make sure Router, Wi-Fi Extender and Phone is close to each other

4. If the above does not help, restart WiFi router (reset wi-fi extender won't help). In some cases, customer need to call their Internet Service provider (e.g. Maxis and Unifi) to reboot the internet.

Here is the solution to those who is on a loop trying to set up this device. If you have a dual band router (5G/2G), then you need to connect to 2g network first.

Then, go to your HOME app, add this device and let it connect under the 2G network.

Once, connected and you are asked to bring the device closer to the router, switch your connection to your 5G network.

Voila! You have succesfully set it up!

I have a really irritating issue. My extender is not connecting to my Huawei 5g wifi. It connects fine with 2.4 G. Do you have a solution for this? I have tried all channels on the huawei 5g wifi network.
