How did HAN SOLO meet CHEWBACCA?

With the new Han Solo Star Wars movie coming in a little more than a year I thought we would go back to how he first met his partner in crime the Wookie Chewbacca. Believe it or not Han Solo was once an imperial pilot and he risked it all for a stranger.

Great video! When I was a kid, the "Han and Chewie and the Falcon backstory" inspired my friends and I's backyard battles even more than "what happened in the Clone Wars" did! Hope it's as cool as our action figure adventures were for that era, the prequels were honestly done better in my backyard in 1984!

The story is perfectly good as it is...And I can already see Disney taking it in an entirely different direction.
I wouldn't be surprised if Disney omits the entire Imperial involvement that Han had in his day.
This film did not need to happen.

I would LOVE to see this story line played out. It would explain a few things about the empire, not just Chewie and Han. I think there should be some very minor subplots, something that's not part of the main story but helps explain things and bridges the gap between prequels and originals.
Like it would be neat if, at least in the background, we saw what the Empire did with leftover separatist Battle Droids use them as cheap slave labor and then as target practice/training when they broke down, salvaging their parts for their own droids, auction them off to Slaver Cartels as a reward/investment to help them take slaves for the empire, and give them as a labor/last resort security force for corporations loyal to the Empire. It could also show how the empire used some of the remaining battle droids as suicide bombers or false flag attack terrorists to attack planets that weren't enemies to the empire, but weren't quite loyal. That way the people would get scared from being attacked by CIS Remnants and would ask the empire to come in and save them. Also, the Empire could try to blame the droid attacks on Rebel Alliance cells, so that people would see them less as freedom fighters and more as just another Separatist style terrorist.
I mean the Empire would probably want to destroy the battle droids, considering that they can't have people realize Palpatine played both sides of the clone wars, but at the same time he might as well get use out of them asides from slave labor, spare parts, and target practice. Using their remnants as false flag proxy armies (which he could blame on the Rebels), or as small rewards for cartels and corporations loyal to the Empire would help bridge the gap.
The black flag terror attacks would make people more desperate to join the empire for security, or if they were stubborn, well they would soften them up for a later Imperial invasion, esp if the now malfunctioning battle droids had explosives in them, explosives laced with poison, radiation, and bio chemical weapons custom tailored for certain races or species.
Also it would be neat if there was a sub plot showing how the Empire stopped using clones and started using humans. Whether they go straight from clones to humans like the new canon or they went through phases of different clones before they focused mainly on humans.
Well, maybe these things don't need to be in this movie, at least not in detail, but they should be in some star wars movie.

Cool video. I hope to see Lando in this movie .. and that legendary card game.. or whatever gamble that took place for Han to win the Millennium Falcon .. ha maybe it was pickup sticks :P

Beckett being a "mentor" for Han, to me, doesn't suggest Shrike so much as Roa - the smuggler on Nar Shaddaa who sort of takes Han under his wing after he starts smuggling for Jabba.  Less memorable character, but seems to fit better...

Funny how in " cannon " han was an elite pilot who earned the correlian blood stripe.

Well this was very interesting. Tho I don't expect the Han Solo movie to be a repeat at all (That would be stupid), I would love if they did a similar story. Or if they did a better telling of how they meet like say Han breaks Chewbacca out of a slave ship due to a raid he was conducting (Aka seeing a badass Han Solo moment of him being a gunslinger). But yeah, I'm gonna be interested on how they do the upcoming movie (Tho I have a prediction that the end of the movie will be him doing the Kessel Run). :3
