Bowcaster - 'I like this thing' - Han Solo

Han Solo borrows Chewie's bowcaster and fires a single high powered bolt between two stormtroopers in the distance, but hits neither of them directly. The ensuing explosion caused by the bolts impact results in enough concussive force to propel the armoured soldiers several meters through the air, incapacitating (and possibly killing) them both in a single powerful blast.

Funny scene and all but all those years working together and this is the first time Han tries out Chewie's bowcaster?

Keep in mind that the only time we saw Chewie using his bowcaster in the OT, it pulverized a speeder bike with a single hit. I don't think it's a case of power discrepancy here, but more of the weapon never getting much use in the original movies.

Bowcaster causes explosion similar to a land mine: everyone is cool with it.

Kylo Ren takes direct shot to torso from same weapon, keeps on trucking, is in visible pain, is not trying to kill Rey: why was Rey able to fight him? That makes no sense!

Remember when the bowcaster had waay too much of a kick to be handled by a human, because it would dislocate their shoulder, and if not dislocate, you need to be wookie strong to hit things accurately?? Yeah, good times.
