Shannen Doherty Talks FEAR of Dying Before Mom Amid Cancer Fight

Eight years into her battle with cancer, Shannen Doherty is facing a new chapter as she puts her affairs in order, preparing herself and her family. She shared on her “Let’s Be Clear” podcast that she is “downsizing” her possessions to help make things easier for her mother if she passes away. She says living with less will give her more time with the ones she cherishes.

At this point I think she knows what's realistic. I'm hoping that people can accept what she is trying to say with all this. The truth of the matter is that she is dying. It is sad, it is so very sad but it's also the truth. She's trying to prolong her life for as long as it's possible and hopefully she does have more time than what's expected . More importantly, I hope that time is well spent, comfortable and makes her happy. This will be a great loss for the world

I’m only 43 years old but with each passing year I feel more and more conscious of aging and inevitable mortality. Each day, each moment of each day becomes more and more precious the older you get. Past grievances are no longer important, instead I feel the need to resolve bitter feelings toward others. Things like these show us just how short and uncertain life can be and to cherish the moments spent with dear loved ones and friends, which is far more important than material possessions.
