5:28 yes! A key difference between a real Memphian and a tourist is that a local or even naturalized resident will recommend a local bbq spot instead of just the tourist bbq big three: Corky’s, Rendezvous, or Interstate.

Great moving to Memphis content man. I grew up here, loved a couple other places with no soul to them in Arkansas and Florida, and I’m glad that I’m back home with my family. In 2018 it even looked more gentrified and nice when I moved back than anytime I remember from the late 80’s through 2012 when I left. Some things have slid backwards since COVID including the population compared to Nashville, but I do believe that there’s more positive going on here than people give credit.

The people doing real good aren’t taking breaks to post on Instagram, so it’s easy to only see the negative doom spiral as we swipe on our social media feeds.

I was born in Memphis 56 years ago. Moved to North MS for 20 years but continued working in Memphis. Moved back to Memphis in 2020 for 3 years. Sold this year and now live in SoCal. I miss Memphis greatly. Will be moving back in June. I have had a love hate relationship with Memphis for most of my years. After moving so far away I can’t wait to get back and be an ambassador of Memphis. I’m Memphis Made!

My plans are to move to Memphis from Tupelo Ms. All I hear is how bad the crime is but I'm looking forward to the change especially for my son's. As soon as I get my house sold here in Tupelo I can begin the search of homes in Memphis!

Avoid eating at the Rendezvous. Central BBQ is good. Corky's is awesome!

One and Only BBQ is the best in town, just a hair in front of Central, in my humble opinion. Both are great and I wouldn't send anyone anywhere else.
