Hurricane Milton is continuing to "rapidly intensify" as it continues its track toward Florida, according to national hurricane forecasters.

Milton came on the scene on Saturday as a tropical storm. Now, as a Category 1 hurricane, the storm is still expected to "rapidly intensify" and be at Category 2 or 3 hurricane strength when it reaches the west coast of Florida sometime midweek.

Prepare for Cat 4 just in case. I know this sucks but lets hope for no major property damages or loss of lives.,

This is the kind of Map I like to see, makes sense, organized as far as how it grows moving across the areas. So many weather people say a lot but then say nothing . Great...thank you so much .

The debris. State troopers locked main Pinellas county dump site down. This is going to cause issues. People now have brush, tree branches etc. that they can't do anything with. This will cause damage as winds send stuff flying, and flooding do to the storm gutters. A week ago the 62 and sewage plant closed . What the hell. St pate needs to get their shit together. And our governor promised that dump sites would be open. Yet here we are. Damage that's caused from our negligent government needs pointed out, when the damage is done that could have been prevented

Hi 10 Tampa Bay, any way you cut it that one baby is a major threat for basically the entire Florida peninsula. I myself am a seasoned hurricane survivor, have gone through several hurricanes starting from the brutals cat 4 hurricane Andrew way back in 1992 to cat 3 hurricane Wilma in 2005 here in Miami. My best advise to all the folks up in Florida, including myself, is to not be afraid of "MIlton", load yourself up with propane gas and plenty of bottled fresh water and prepare yourself with your grill for about 5 to 10 days of cooking within your front yard or patio before power is restored in your area. My prayers are with all of us to be spared from harm during the storm, say hi for me to Colleen guys, rgs

All the areas that were left with debris from Helene should evacuate. It is unheard and unseen to have so much debris right before another storm because the local government is overwhelmed. They are even asking the public who have trucks to volunteer to pick up the debris.

This storm could collide with other frontal systems, which could weaken it. Cat 3 potential. Most models call for it to make landfall on wendsday.
