This is a pair of antique Native American hand sewn child's moccasins that I used to wear when I was small. My mother saved them for me and I thought I would show them to you since we recently went to the Shinnecock Pow Wow.

That's cool. I love antiques. I once had an original pair of ice skates, just wood with a strap and a blade. I loved them, but unfortunate I had to sell them to get food. Loved seeing those grandma❤

I haven't had Moccasins in years. I remember how comfortable they were. How nice you still have yours.

They are just beautiful, I had a pair of moccasins when I was a teen, I don't remember what happened to them, mine didn't have any soft plush material so they weren't very comfortable, thank you for sharing, love you Grandma, Grandpa and kitty's❤😽🐈‍⬛

I wore moccasins for history reenactment and found them very warm and comfortable. Mine don't have the soft fur. They look very special.

Those childhood moccasins are beautiful, remarkably well-preserved handmade (apparently native) artifacts; might they be Shinnecock in origin? If they are, while I know they surely have immense sentimental value to you, dear Grandma Feral, might you consider donating them to a local museum focusing on native and historical artifacts? Regardless, I'm honored that you shared this unique piece of your childhood with us -- be well, and all good to you, Grandpa Feral and the kittehs.

I remember travelling upstate, and maybe even out east, as a kid, and seeing teepee/trading posts with Indian theme. You could get a headdress, child's tomahawk (yeah, go figure!), and other paraphernalia...includ ing moccasins. I wonder if this is where they came from. I seem to remember having beaded moccasins w/o the lining. I didn't wear them much, either--they were kind of hard on my feet.
