O M G!! Thank you for showing that we didn't all just run around naked or in buck skins, most people don't know that there were three types of sheep in North America, and alpaca and Llama in Central and South America, all good sources of wool.. and there were several varieties of cotton native to North America, as well as the Yucca and palmetto plants in Florida.. all pre-contact... I am NW Florida Mvskoke (Creek) and our "Traditional" clothing consists of cloth fabrics made with both traditional and modern methods, materials, and styles... I used to wonder if we made those clothes before the Europeans came here then I remember my childhood growing up in Florida with traditional grandparents... As a small child, I was taught how to take palmetto leaves, scrape it with a flat bone or piece of wood down the length of my thigh to separate the fibers, then roll those fibers into thread, which we made rope and fishing nets out of... We would also use that thread to make woven belts that hold up our breechclouts and leggings... It isn't a huge leap to go from that belt to full fledged clothing.. My breachclout (loin Cloth) was made from animal hair turned into felt then cut into shape and edged with bone beads and tassels. If I could make these at 8, why couldn't we as a people? After all... They have found cloth in our mounds that date back to 1, 000 BCE that is "The quality of the finest European Linens"... OH! and our shirt patterns... simple rectangle folded across the middle (at the shoulders) with a "T" slit for the neck, stitched down the sides, and sleeves added to it... we use cotton for the cloth and sometimes yucca... collars were added after Europeans contact because... Cool....
same pattern was used for leather shirts as well, but the sides and sleeves were held together with lengths of leather thongs... which makes the classic "Fringed" looked.
SO sorry for writing a book LOL
MVTO !!!

[EDIT] wanted to add, I believe Most Natives COULD weave cloth from their local plants/furs but I think we just prefer the path of least resistance... making leather is less "trouble" so I think that's why it's more common.. just my opinion though...

Amazing…Beautiful attire.👍🇺🇸
Indians were so great due to their lifestyle and their absolute beautiful clothing. Beads etc etc.
I wish there was a video showing how the women made their clothing.

it might seem primitive, but remember we were not in contact with the rest of the world where they could access and teach each other how to make fabrics and stuff. and unable to trade unlike the rest of the world.

aht aht aht. your native american depictions in this video are looking a little pale in color now. YES it matters. it would have been a good video had you depicted natives with our original skintone vs. white washing our image.
