For the person saying that Scotland, Wales, England, and Northern Ireland are all countries. They are nations. Like Greenland, they have autonomy but are still part of one main governing body.

In all fairness, to the American and Geo Glimpse's view the UK acts as a contry with Britain, Scotland, Wales, etc acting as state like division of the UK. BTW the argument that they are a contry because they have different laws in stupid; in the USA states will sometimes have different laws, but no one considers them a country. If the people of the UK fell that their kingdoms are separate countries then I guess we should respect that, it's their land after all. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

The UK is a kingdom that combines four countries and is formally called, "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland."

It was just Great Britain before 1910/1912.

The island is called GREAT BRITAIN and not just Britain.
