Good video. I found i was paralysed by the watching the big prepping channels to the point where i didnt k ow where to start.
What i did was start with is the question ‘if i couldn’t leave my house for 1 week, would i have enough?’
I would say most of us could right now, maybe not well but there’s probably enough stuff in the house not to die. However then you go the next step is what if tjere was no utilities (gas, wlectric and water). Now that a bit harder.
So to begin its 1 week of :
Food
Water
Medication
First aid
Hygene

I don't prep for the 'end of the world'. I don't prep for the attack of the Zombie. I don't prep for extraterrestrials. That doesn’t mean I don't prep. I prep for everyday life, or the once a year life. I figure once I get that dialed in, I will fairly much be prepping for most anything else. I prep for flat tire or battery. You'd be surprised middle-aged adults who call AAA for flat tires. I prep for big storms, also hurricanes because where I live. (I consider a hurricane outside of a reg. storm, which I also prep for.) Hurricanes, I put in the once a year category. I also prep for evacuating friends moving in for a week. (They prep their own special needs, Dr. Prescription, cane, wheelchair.)

I live in a very “safe” area of the UK, I can’t remember the last power cut, we’re very rarely affected by adverse weather, however this caused it’s own issues, that no one thinks any form of Prepping is needed so I’m expecting quite an issue if (when) something significant occurs, I remember the “panic” at petrol stations back in the early 2000 when the distribution depots were blockaded, I bet plenty of people stated that they would never let their car fuel get down to the red line, I wonder if they still do?

Well done!No fear mongering, serious and from the heart.I like that.I am one who goes on the concept of "back up for my backups".Redundant electric, fuel and water systems.Multiple heating systems(being in NE US).And yes it has taken me years and money....lots of money! But not getting burnt out on it is also key.Always stay positive.

I’ve inadvertently started prepping over the past 10 months. Started with putting new windows and doors on the house, even tho I haven’t reinforced a lot of them I have the ones which an average sized adult can access the inside. I always put a full tank of fuel in the car now, i purchased a home cctv and burglar alarm system. Open reach are coming to relocate the phone line master socket to upstairs so the wire can’t be easily cut. I have an electrician which will install a diesel generator connected to an ATS system so when a power cut occurs it will cut in. More things planned but I don’t wanna bore you and some commenters usually send me hate on social media for whatever reason 🤷‍♂️ nice to have found your tube tho 👍🏼

New subscriber, and so glad to have found your channel. I lived for some years out in BC, Canada where I was a prepper with a lot of space to store stuff and hone 'bushcraft' skills taught to me by my late father. I also had large basements to store lots of gear. Now back in the UK and taking care of my elderly mom, I'm prepping again but on a much smaller scale. So tired of listening to the hyped up, click-bait 'the nukes are coming!' prep channels, and happy to have found a sensible, level headed channel with info and help that's actually useful here in the UK. Great work! 👌🏽

A wise man once told me prepping is a marathon not a sprint, and that makes good sense. To many first starting out think they are late too the game. Do a little every week it will add up. We prep for grid down. We think that encompasses most things we are concerned about. We are in Alberta, Canada and I could not imagine living in say London if power was out for a month.
We have half the population of London in the entire province (4.3 million) and we are twice the size of the U.K.
On the plus side you have better winters, it will be -43 tomorrow night.
We have prepped for thousands of years. It is only the last 80-90 years we stopped. You are not strange! You will find a certain piece of mind in your food storage. We basically just shop for sales now because we don't have to shop every day. It can save you money. Though here not so much since covid. Sales are not very good anymore.
