Certain commands have a radius I believe, and with minecarts you could extend that radius as the minecart with the command travels. I know you can set where the command takes place, but not always. Correct me if I'm wrong, just trying to think of ways it could be used haha.

I use command blocks in minecarts in some of my maps, because you can easily teleport them and it will affect relative coordinates in the command.

Poisonous potato actually gives you 2 points in the hunger bar while a regular potato only 1 point. About minecart with comman block, when making adventure maps, or other custom maps the minecart with command block can be useful. Most of the times you can use redstone, but sometimes the minecarts are easier to use and is easy ro make a longer repeating clock without placing 50 repeaters.

Minecart with command block now have a very useful usage in bedrock version now that the recent versions have changed how some commands work. It really helps now.

You can summon the command block minecart as passenger on a falling activator rail and by that activate the command inside it. Because that feature is stackable, you can execute multiple commands from a single command block. McMakistein for example uses this mechanic to build his machines.

Command block minecart was useful because it was an entity that could run commands.Then the execute command got added so it’s use became all those 1 command machines (A way to run multiple commands at once because you could summon them riding each other). Then datapacks got added. So yes it is truly useless.

command block minecarts are somewhat useful since you can make a custom spawn egg that spawns a command block minecart with a command essentially creating a spawn egg for a command (another way to do essentially the same thing is make a spawn egg for a falling block then set the falling block to a command block)
