Mite Away Quick Strips is a Formic Acid polysaccharide gel strip which, when placed in the brood chamber of a Honey bee hive, is an organic miticide that kills the Varroa mite where it reproduces, under the brood cap.

MAQS technology eliminates residue risk. Beekeepers can use it safely during the honey flow.

I understand that the recommended maximum temperature for applying this product is 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Higher than that may cause loss of brood, bees and queen. So, the honeybee naturally maintains a brood / hive temperature of ~94 - 95 +/- degrees Fahrenheit, that said, how can > than 85 degree F temperatures have any additional effect on the colony mortality? Max application temperature is 85 degrees oF and hive temperature ~95 degrees oF, I don't understand?

I look forward to your response and explanation. Currently my area max daily temperatures are in the high 80's to low 90 oF, and I need to use Mite Away now as it is the only safe treatment that will pernitrate the brood. Thank you,
