This is the 35mm theatrical trailer for the 1984 slasher horror feature "Friday the 13: The Final Chapter",. Directed by Joseph Zito ("The Prowler"), this was the fourth and-surprise-not final entry in the franchise and the third sequel to 1980's "Friday the 13th". Bowing to pressure from critics and parents group over the series' grisly nature, Paramount Pictures announced that this would be the final entry in the series, saying that according to the tagline on posters and ads, that this would be "Jason's unlucky day", which clearly didn't happen. The movie was released domestically on Friday, April 13, 1984.

Tom Savini ("Dawn of the Dead"), who oversaw the special makeup effects on "Friday the 13th", returns to do the effects on this installment.

Picking up in real time the night after the Higgins Haven massacre ("Friday the 13th Part 3: 3D"), hockey masked serial killer Jason Voorhees (Ted White) is mysteriously revived in the local morgue, where he makes short work of the attending doctor and nurse on duty.

The next day, Jason fixes his attention on two neighboring houses in the lake region. One is being rented by a group of vacationing college kids: amorous couple Paul (Alan Hayes) and Samantha (Judie Aronson), all-American Doug (Peter Barton, fresh from the cancelled NBC series "The Powers of Matthew Star", which co-starred "Friday 2"'s Amy Steel), his girlfriend Sara (Barbara Howard), sex-starved Ted (Lawrence Monoson of "The Last American Virgin"), his newly single, insecure best friend Jimmy (a pre-"Back To The Future" Crispin Glover), and twins Tina and Terri (Camilla and Carey Moore).

The other neighboring house is occupied by the Jarvis family, which includes divorced mother Mrs. Jarvis (Joan Freeman), her teenage daughter Trish (Kimberly Beck) and horror loving younger son Tommy (Corey Feldman), who would begin a three picture story arc in this movie.

Tommy and Trish also befriend a hitchhiker named Rob Dyer (Erich Anderson) who is in town to hunt down Jason for revenge. (Rob had a sister named Sandra that was a victim of Jason via a double impalement in "Friday the 13th Part 2")

Tommy and Trish are the only ones left standing after Jason makes his way through Rob, Mrs. Jarvis and the eight kids, until Tommy puts Jason in his place once and for all, ending his "final chapter". But it may have created "a new beginning" for Tommy.
