1:02:17 "But long story short, she panics at the disco and [Jason] decides "let’s kill tonight" and he does. He strangles her. I guess it’s a sin and a tragedy." Never change, your sense of humor is what makes your Horror History superior to other film recaps/ timelines

Jason hates windows because they're reflective like the water he drowns in and also he doesn't like to look at himself

CZ is literally one of like 5 people I can listen to breakdown long form content without being irritated. He’s so fair, well researched and entertaining. Nuff respect ✊🏾

I've always believed that Jason didn't drown. Pamela was so grief-stricken that she used the book to try and bring him back, not knowing he wasn't dead and the dormant magic in him was activated when his body was struck by lightning.

in my opinion I think it makes more sense that Jason didn't actually drown he just washed up on the other side of the lake and lived in the woods, this could also explain why Jason looks like an adult it could be the muscle from living in the woods and building his own shack, this is most likely copium as i think that Jason being a deadite kinda takes away form the character in my opinion

Jason is smart in the sense that he has low Intelligence, high Wisdom. He couldn’t tell you what 7x4 is, but he could absolutely tell you how to use every single sharp tool on planet earth as a weapon. He probably can’t read a book, but he can read the room to know the best spot to hide and ambush someone. He gets easily distracted, but knows that it’s just another target for him to get.

I've always heard different theories on why Jason is a grown man and has invincibility, but I have my own ideas. I personally think he did survive the drowning when he was a child and snuck off into the woods (possibly to avoid the bullying of the other kids after that incident) and then years later when Pamela was killed, discovered her and that's what set him off on his killing spree. I do find this a bit more plausible since up until Jason Lives, he wasn't undead (at least, not from my perspective since he didn't look like a walking corpse from Friday Part II to The Final Chapter). I think after Jason Lives is when he REALLY became invincible because of the lightning strike at the beginning. I also remember reading that there was a different backstory to his drowning in which instead of being pushed in by bullies, Jason snuck out in the middle of the night to prove he could swim. I wouldn't think that'd work since the camp counselors were likely asleep (which would invalidate that they were doing it when they were supposed to be watching him). These are all just my own perspectives and theories, and I'm open to hearing others!

"Jason was the original slasher to get basement burinated, 30 years before Michael Myers" A New Blood came out in 1988. Freddy was set on fire in a basement 4 years prior.

Never considered the Deadite angle to explain Jason being alive in Part 2. Now a lot of the series suddenly makes sense

You did get at least one thing wrong. Pamela Voorhees wasn't channeling Jason's spirit as he never did actually drown. The reasoning for this is that Part 2 takes place at most a year later, and by then, Jason is fully grown. She DID use it, thinking Jason was dead, but the spell of resurrection didn't work because he wasn't actually dead. The first official death of Jason was in Part 4. That's why he was able to come back in Part 6, Jason Lives, because the spell only works on those who have died, and Jason was dead by then.

according to Betsy, the backstory she came up with, based on her wearing a highschool class ring in the movie, was that [elias] was just her highschool sweetheart and they were teenagers and she had Jason out of wedlock and her parents threw her out and [elias] didnt wanna be tied down with a kid.. once Savini made him special needs, that even more supports that backstory as its very likely in that time, a teenage boy, especially a "bad boy" who may or may not of had an interest in the occult (I base this on the grungy look they were gonna give him in 6 and the necronomicon being in the house)

It's not over months that Jason died, it's years. The OG murders happened in the 60's. It skips to real time after opening and says dates

My goat! 🔥
Jason really has been through a LOT over the years, hasn't he? 🤔
From Manhattan, to hell, to space... hard to believe he started off an innocent boy. 💀

Jason didn’t drown, that’s why he’s an adult in part 2. That’s the official cannon. He didn’t die til 4 after he became zombie Jason. Also in part one Pamela says today is his birthday Friday the 13th, not the 15. Lots of fails in this one.
