Something a lot of people don't realize is that if you already have TikTok it won't get deleted.
It just becomes no longer downloadable. The app will probably still be used for a few years until it stops working due to lack of updates. It is a good time for creators to start prioritizing other platforms though.

Why are people arguing over how TikTok is ruining peoples attention spans, THATS NOT THE POINT, the point is that this will do almost exclusively harm, it’s a near direct violation of the first amendment, will be terrible for the economy, especially small businesses, and it sets a terrifying precedent for what the government can do!

Yeah umm, they make $13, 760 per second. Which is $825 600 per minute. Which is $49, 536, 000 per hour Which is $1, 188, 864, 000 per day. Which is around $36, 161, 280, 000 per month. Which is $433, 935, 360, 000 per year (they probably make more than that). Which is $4, 339, 353, 600, 000 per decade (it is ALOT more than that). So in conclusion the usa will NOT lose money, but those businesses (half of them are just dropshippers) will be cooked. So will the creators.

Just the US government being too obsessed with eastern platforms having an advantage on the country, from one side I can understand that the US gov is concerned in case china steals US citizens data (which they're most likely doing), but from another side why don't they come up with a reasonable solution instead of a harsh ban that'll affect the us more than it'll affect TikTok itself, a lot of people have put their lives on this platform you can't just destroy their careers like this
