I've worked with Vietnamese as I'm a nail tech. They used to trash talk me behind my back.. My friend would tell me what they say. I finally told her to stop telling me.
What you don't know doesn't (usually) hurt you. That was the only way to get through those days with any sanity

I've gotten 3 pedis, and the first time I've ever gotten one (I was 16) they literally buffed my heel until I bled because they would not stop talking to her friend and wasn't looking at me at me at all. She was holding my leg so i couldn't flinch away and then she got upset at *me* for bleeding after, literally borderline yelled at me.

If you are going into a business and someone is working their ass off to do your nails and buff the calluses off your feet I think it's only respectful to not be talking on the damn phone the whole time. Nail techs work hard. At the nail salon I go to they really pamper you and occasionally have conversation with their coworkers. But I wouldn't dare be rude enough to be talking on my phone while another human being is scrubbing my feet. Idk I just feel like that's common courtesy.

I went to a nail salon for the first time last year and the woman literally told the other nail tech that my fingers were really ugly and hairy. In front of me. And then proceeded to overcharge me by 15$😵‍💫😵‍💫

I've gone to the same nail salon since I was a teenager, going with my mother. I joined the Air Force and only went back once, to get my nails done for my wedding. After 6 years of being gone, I moved back home and started going back to the same salon. They remembered me, my name, asked about my mom and my little sister, asked how my husband was, if I was home for good and genuinely seemed happy to see me. During both of my pregnancies, I'd go to Mr. Tony for a pedicure and Mrs. Tammy for a manicure. They always treated me so kindly. And now that my daughter is 7, I take her to that salon for mother/daughter quality time. I guess I just got really lucky in the nail tech lottery because all the ladies, and Mr. Tony, at my nail salon are absolutely LOVELY! And that's why I'll never bring anyone around that speaks Cantonese, that's what language they speak, that way if they are talking about me I can still live in my fool's paradise! 💅🤣

I feel so bad when I hear these stories. My family is mostly nail techs all round on both sides and they are so nice to customers so I didn’t even know mean nail technicians were a thing💔😭
