RetroArch v1.7.0. Quick Setup Guide & Tutorial (2018)

This is a short update video from my previous video posted back in 2016 showing how to setup the basic settings for RetroArch and saving and loading Core configurations!

Hey man, thanks so much for this video! I spent the last week figuring out as much as I could about Retroarch (being on Linux), and your video still showed me a few things I hadn't yet realized. Here's a tip, use the 2xBR video filter instead of turning blinear filtering off. It looks smooth while being sharp.

1.7.3 doesn't have the Core Information option in the Information menu. I'm trying to play Castlevania: Rondo Of Blood and I can't because the game doesn't load I suppose. Black screen. Any ideas? Thanks again for sharing how to navigate the program.

Sir thank you for your time and explanation. What I’m noticing about Retroarch is that the controls for the games when using an Xbox one or 360 controller are not favorable. Especially when playing Shinobi on Sega Saturn. The jump button is set to a shoulder button. Can you show how to configure controls per core or per game. PLLLLEEEEAAAASSSEEE!! In addition 2 d games like Mario usually have reversed jump and run or fireball buttons. I can’t find any descent tutorials even in forums. I think the buttons have a mapping issue because of how they are intended to work in the retroarch GUI.

How the do I change the Controller bindings?? Example: I load a Nes game. And The binding in the ps3 controller is a bit off.. So when I change them, the settings wont save. So for every damn game I load, I have to change the controller again!! Is there a way to save them?? This is the most frustrating emulator I have ever dealt with!!!
Another problem is that i wont find any Sega Genesis or Snes games. It starts to scan the folder, then just stops. And nothing... No errors, no nothing.. It just dont wanna scan..

Lame! I updated from 1.5 working perfect to this new 1.7 and now it won't recognize my controller. Can't seem to find the option to add it back. Bad form Libretro.

When I goto Core Updater I have no where near as big of a list of Cores.
